Exhaust questions for the SS/SC?

I'm looking into an cat-back exhaust upgrade for my '06 SS/SC. I'm leaning towards the Vibrant header/downpipe & exhaust package, the random technology downpipe & exhaust, or just the Magnaflow cat-back with the rest of the stock system. Other than a AEM cai the car is stock the only other performance upgrade it will have done to it is the GM stage 2 kit. Any suggestions or help on this matter would really be appreciated. Please keep in mind I want to stay as far away as possible from that import coffee-can type canister and really don't want it to sound like a ricer. Thanks guys!

Funny you mentioned Vibrant, I am actually buying there cat back on Monday. Due to money issues I have to wait to get the header and downpipe. I heard this exhaust on the balt and it sounds nice, has a pretty decent price and is 3" which is very important.

three inch isnt really that important. Our cars like back pressure so the 2.5 (which is most common) is just fine, even when getting into the hi hp#s ie: 275-ish

no it wont hurt it, but it's definately on the edge of being too big. Lots of people run it though down the road when they're doing blower swaps or turbo swaps. It will help then.

Why do some think having a full 3" is so important. I could really be wrong but I was under the ussumption that forced induction cars like a little back presure like BIGRROBERTO said. Please correct me if thats not right and explain why if possible. Thanks.

not really. The GM Sport is a good choice with good sound at a decent price.

Yes we like backpressure... in the car-kind way... not the homo way...

Turbos don't like any backpressure, and Supercharged cars don't like backpressure either, but will benefit, power wise, in low rpms from the higher exhaust gas velocity attained with smaller exhausts like 2.5 and 2.25.

backpressure is a concept often misconceived
