14-22 lbs? dude, that is a huge difference. 19's aren't a good choice if you want lightweight wheels. i feel my 18" volks are too big but they weigh 15 lbs which is pretty good for 18's but i hear the lug nut pattern is weird on the cobalts so it might be harder to look for true lightweigh wheels. i'd stay below 17's if you really want lightweight wheels. which model cobalt do you own?

Good bloody luck, mate. I've been looking for 5 x 110 17's for a couple of months now- not even a tease out there that I've been able to find yet. tirerack only has 18's in that pattern, wheelmax doesn't even know the difference between the SS and base, so a search for Cobalt wheels comes up with- you guessed it- 4 x 100. I'd love to know if anyone has found lightweight 17's for the SS.

shiftingloco310, which model Cobalt do you have? You didn't specify. You have more of a selection with the 2.2 wheels, it's very hard to find wheels that fit the 5x110 bolt pattern on the 2.4 and 2.0. BBS makes some wheels, but I don't know for sure how much they weigh. they're off the SAABs.

Yeah, 17s are the way to go, you'll notice a little better handling in tight cornering with the 17s. If you find something interesting let us know...I'm interested in getting light weight wheels for mine too.

Yeah, that's what I keep looking for. There's a salvage yard/repair shop near me that specializes in nothing but SAABs, I told them to call me any time they get the wheels in. Even if I can only get one wheel at a time, it still isn't too bad.

That's almost not even worth it. The stock 18s are 24lbs each. If I'm going to pay to upgrade I want a significant drop in weight. I've seen some 17s on Tire Rack that are 19-20 lbs. They have a set of Borbet wheels that are 17s that fit our car and they're not too badly priced either. I want to say right around $175/wheel?

Now you understand why we're wanting to ditch them so badly...but alas, with our bolt pattern I have yet to see a wheel for our cars that weighs less than 19.5lbs even in 17"

i would just change the bolt pattern to a very common bolt pattern and pick from a large variety of lightweight wheels.

24 lbs for a stock 18" is not that bad man, blades are 15's and weigh about the same if not more.

I personally wanna go down to a nice light 17 when I can finally get a hold of some coil-overs.

lightweight 18's are hard to find been seacrhing since june for ones i like.

I think the weight from stock wheels is holding back our cars at the track.
