Tint: Not 100% Happy... (help?)
So earlier this week I got the 'balt tinted and overall, it does look pretty good. The only quality complaint is that on top of the rear window it seems like the tint isn't "sticking" because of the dot pattern up there. Also it's kinda shady around the defroster strip things. The pic is below, looks kinda crappy. It's also been crazy cold here so I dunno if that has something to do with it too or not.
The other issue is that even though I like the 20% tint, I'm just not completely happy with it. It's lighter than I wanted and I'm seriously considering going back and changing it. But the only other tint the place had was 5% and that's too dark. So I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking about putting another layer of 20% on, but I'm not sure if that's doable or how dark that would make it (maybe 10%-15%??). So if any of you have advice/experience with this let me know your thoughts
Here's the back I was talking about earlier btw...

thats going to happen w/ the dot matrix on the rear window..there's really nothing you can do about it except ask them to put a vinyl strip there...it'll look better....shoulda got limo all the way buddy
Looks good, i wish i would have went darker than 20% on my silver balt.
they probably shouldnt have even tinted that part(my tint place didnt) but as time goes on it usually comes off where all them little dots are and it'll look fine.
and btw i'd just keep it at %20 u dont wanna make it too dark then it becomes an issue at night when ur lookin out ur side windows and side mirrors

Yea I know, that's why I didn't go with the 5%. It just sucks 'cause every time I look at it I wish it were darker. She's gonna be around for a long time, so I'm not sure what to do

Yea and that's the reason I didn't get the 5%. I still like my tint a lot, don't get me wrong. I just wish it were a little bit darker. Maybe 15%.
The place that did mine just glued a piece of black vinyl to the rear window. I got 18% and then they waited two weeks for the adhesive to settle and stick. Then I brought the car back and they fixed the back.
I have one decent pic in my gallery of 18%

I've been pulled over 4 times since ive gotten them tinted...none of them were for tint...the cops here are to cheap to get their own screen box to check for tint so they just dont give a ****....thanks for the compliments guys...
BTW, black cars look like SEX w/ limo tint...
hey man mine did the same thing in the exact same place they told me that there not really to much they can do, about getting 5% i have it all the way around and it's great but at night i cant see squat, but it's great in the summer time it keeps the car cooler than most
Mine done the same thing. I took a box cutter and a yard stick and cut it along the bottom of the dots and then peeled the top part off and removed the glue with some WD-40 and a lot of rubbing. Looks a lot better.
Here's a few pics of mine...

Please excuse the mess, it's been raining for about 2 weeks.
Sure woulda liked to have known about that a year ago! I didn't want to use anything too harsh though so as not to harm the surrounding tint.
