Great Dog Video!

As many people know, Dachshunds(weiner dogs) tend to have back problems after years of jumping and stuff. Well, my parent's Dachshund has finally become paralyzed from the waste down and can't use her back legs anymore.

My dad went ahead and made her a wheelchair to use so that she can get around easier. She loves it!!!! It may just be me, but I think it's hilarious watch her! I just saw it tonight when I went to go visit them.

For those of you that have never seen one of these wheelchairs, here is a video!

BTW for those of you who hate seeing animals hurt, she is very happy and in no pain.

Thats great. Hey and if the animal is not bothered by it then why not.

My sister had a dog that she rescued and it was injured before she rescued it. The doges front leg would sometimes buckle and get re injured. So the vet suggested amputating the leg. Well the leg was amputated and once it healed the dog was like a whole new animal that was around for 10 years. His name was bear but I used to call him Tripod...haha.

Great dog and man could he jump and run with only three legs.

That's our current pooch Pudge in my avitar.

That's sad, but props on your dad for making things to keep the dog happy and healthy.

My parents have Corgi's and I sometimes wonder if the same thing won't happen to them. They are longer dogs, but very prone to being over weight, so I could see this happening.

My dogs are extremely prone to hip dysplasia so I have them checked yearly. I also made sure the parents of my male were thoroughly screened to check for hip dysplasia as well.

actually, when i checked online there were a bunch of videos of corgis using these same devices due to back issues, so youre right to be getting them checked. surgery to fix this is expensive as hell and has only like a 20% chance of total success. most dogs still walk funny after it.

Yea, I'll have to let my parents know about that. It doesn't help that they are about 30 lbs. overweight as well
