7500 redline?

Well, I'm pretty sure this has been discussed.......however I was just wanting to get any possible concerns with bringing the stock motor upto 7500 rpm??? It is possible and safe, or what would be needed to do it??? I konw for 8k, i would need neutral balance shafts. BUt will the valve springs/retainers handle a few hunder more rpm.

I have had mine up @ 7500 for a long time before the procharger and it was ok but every car is different and my car only has 8000 miles on it! But it really isnt worth it except for shifting out of 2nd into third @ 75-78 MPH.

had mine at 7500 since a month after I bought it. I'm at 17,500 miles and no problems! Just by bumping the rev limit up, I gained 2mph in the quarter also, basically taking better advantage of the geraring in the car. I know stock when i shifted at the 6500rpm limit, the car would bog into 2nd gear. Now with the 7500rpm limit, it stays in the powerband better when I shift.

exactly, I don't casually run it up to 7500 all the time. Only when I'm at the track or in a good race. I don't even take it that high when the occasional newer civic si comes along and "tries" to play.
