Smashed my 06 ss/sc on into a barrier on the highway the other day in queens after hitting some black ice... yes on the highway. The front end crumpled as expected... after it crumpls in like that do they even bother repairing it or is is unfixable at that point? Here is a shotty picture:

Yeah me and my girl are ok, her knee got banged up and I got airbag burn but other than that its fine. I actually had it back after hitting the first spot of ice but the second was our doom. Apparently there is a water main in queens that leaks over on to the grand central parkway. Most people know about it I guess, but I sure didnt. It was 20 degrees out so it froze over and caused the black ice. After we stopped we got out and jumped over the barrier expecting more people to hit the ice and wreck like me. A couple taxis sideswiped my car after hitting the ice and instantly drove off of course. I have insurance and Gap insurance so its not the end of the world, but I had 0% financing on that thing which isnt going to happen again for a while, so that blows.

 

I thought that was the back of the car until I read the story... As long as you survived, you can get another car...

This is like jeja vu man. Two weeks ago i seen a black ss/sc run right into a powerline pole. The impact was the same way right in the front and it was crumbled in like yours. Anyway sorry to hear about your car man. Are you gonna get another ss/sc or wait for the ss/tc?

waiting to find out what insurance/gmac will do for me. If my loan just gets paid off im going to buy a beater til another 0% deal comes out and try the ss/tc. The idea of turbo lag scares me though...
