does anyone know anywhere in north jersey where i can just get out and step on the gas? i live in the mountains in bloomingdale and i don't really get a chance to see what the car can do because of windy roads and traffic... i've only gotten it up to 105 and want to really see what it can do.. thx

A lot of people on this forum "hate/protest" against street racing or any type of high speed driving on public roads. I'm not one of them though. I would say route 80 (if your close to it) late at night. However, cops sit sometimes in the middle of the highway (it's a huge highway, I call it the travelers highway because it goes forever) So if you have a radar, bring it. Oh and they are state troopers so if you do get pulled over, may god have mercy on you. Other than that, there's really no place to push your car. I don't feel comfortable topping my car out on any public road. The fastest I have been has been 130 (redline in 4th) and that's as far as I'm going. NJ is one of the most crowded states so we are all in the same boat as you.

thanks man... and for the record, i'm not about street racing at all... i just have a new car and want to see what it can do... my previous car was a 1991 ford taurus station wagon, so as you can imagine it's a slight power upgrade... once i see what it can do, it will be out of my system...

Now if we lived in a little state called Montana (being sarcastic about the little) we could top our cars out daily. Isn't there a road in Montana with no speed limit?

You know what, it might be better to go in the daylight since you can see A LOT better. I was on there last week or the week before and this lexus is300 flew by me doing at least 140. I was only doing like 65. It was so fast that I felt the wind from his car move my car.

sweet... i'm right off of 287 which would be perfect if there wasn't so many cars out... but traffic moves about 80 mph, so if you're doing 90 you're barely passing anyone most of the time... anytime you get up to speed there's always that ******* that likes to go 55 in the left lane...

Yeah everyone does like 75 80 on route 80. I'm seriously the only one that does the speed limit (most of the time anyway ) There's a very short highway near me called route 21. It lasts about 20 minutes the most to go through. Speed limit is 55. EVERY1 does 75. I actually do 55 to 60. People blow by me all the time. It isn't such a great highway too. There are many dips and turns. Many people have killed themselves on that highway. One of my friends recked his bmw 330ci in one of the turns. So guess what?! His parents went out and bought him a bmw e46 m3! I'm so jealous of him becaus that's one of my dream cars. Sh*t if I ever wreck my cobalt (hopefully never because I love it to death) I hope my parents buy me like a corvette zo6 with the 505hp

haha.. yea, i know route 21 well... it's so damn bumpy though, anything over 70 and you run the risk of bottoming out... i lived in hawthorne, and grew up in wallington, and still have family there, so i take 21 whenever i go visit...

Well whenever you visit again, send me a private message. I live like 2 towns away from Wallington. There's also a kid who has a silver ss/sc that lives in wallington.

Damn 105 should be what like a mid 13 second pass with good traction? Your car is pretty quick then from a roll that is. Wolfman, do you live around the bergen county area?

I didn't mean to make fun of you. lol sorry. I love how srt4's respond to mods. Hey, is running 18 psi on a stock 05 srt4 acr (just manual boost controller to get the 18) safe? Because my friend is boosting 18 but i think he might be a tad high for having just a mbc.

running 18psi on a stock srt is worthless cuz it jus drops down to stock level By redline anyways... tell him to pick up a stage one and MOST importantly a waste gate actuator, which will hold more boost to redline... so instead of spiking 18 and dropping back down to like 13, he can spike 18 and hold 15, or 16psi to redline... thats where he will get the most power from!

ps... when did you make fun of me? lol i dont remember that... oh well! we should get together sometime... your on srt-4mation, arent you?

Yeah i've been there before with my friends. I went with 5 friends there. I know Alex personallly and he was the one who told me to go so I did. No offense but it's a tad bit boring. I mean I know the stores let you go and hang out there as long as you don't do crazy stuff but i'd rather would've went out for like a group cruise. I only stayed like an hour bc I had to leave.
