1 Hr Track Time for $150
Track Night in America
You and your car.
An hour of Track time.
4pm-8pm, on a weeknight.
$150
I think I will try this out at the National Corvette Museum track. What do you guys think about this program? It's from SCCA, so they should have event skills.

Ehhhhhhhh, one would think.
The local SCCAs up here have been doing a similar program for a couple years now. They can be hit or miss as far as organization goes. I've been to events where they didn't have enough instructors, and some people didn't ever get out on track.
There's a number of private track days at NCM this summer. Yes, they will be more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
I'm making the trip down from WI for one there in August. There's another guy from the forums also going, but he might have his Abarth and not his Cobalt.

Awesome. Let me know when in August. I'll have to stop by, if not drive. It is nice to see Cobalts on track having a good time, overtaking more expensive cars, and whatnot.
There is another guy on here from Missouri that came to NCM.
August, I'll have to get some IAT2 skills. Mine got to 180 before I put on the smaller pulley at Road Atlanta. But that has a longer front straight.
Do you have heat issues when on track at 80+ degree weather?

NCM is one of the few tracks I'd feel comfortable driving a street car without a rollbar/seats/harnesses because there is so much runoff and speeds are reasonable. I wanted to do Road Atlanta, but the margin for error is really slim there.
This is our 140whp e30 - I am really interested to see how the 'Balt will do on rivals :

That makes me a little jealous of SoCal. I am planning to do a 2 day event, during the weekday, for $485 with the National Corvette Museum.

When is this event? I'd be interested in going. I've been wanting to get my Cobalt on to the track. I ran there with ChumpCar and the West course is huge fun. Very "auto-crossy".

It is from one of our Cobalt brothers from MO I think.
I agree with you about Road Atlanta. Turn 12 takes more guts than I have. My first time was lap was to hug the inside. Now I take a better line. But I don't have the guts and/or skills to get through it with serious speed. I exit at 90 to 100. However, people with skills tell me to left foot brake to kill the understeer.
You can come with me when I go. And go for a ride in my car if they approve me for one of run groups that takes passengers.

I am still jealous. I came to Englewood on business. But I didn't think to hit up any track action. I was too busy trying to find Pike Peak and doing actual work.

I went to NCM on the 23rd and 24th. It was excellent, as usual. My best time was 2:46 on treadwear 700. The C7 Z06 has some crazy straightline power. I got some video and data from Harry's Lap Timer that I will post. I just need to figure out how to sync the data and video.
I will also be there May 19th if anyone else wants to go after work.
