Hawk HP+ are nice for street and for beginning track day goers. You will end up going to a better pad pretty quickly once you start getting more comfortable. Do not use Hawk Blue's unless you like replacing your rotors every track weekend.

Yeah, Im thinking of putting the Hawk HP+ in before we go back to Big Willow. Use that to adjust to the car having brakes finally after 10 years ( god the drums were ****) and then go up another pad level....

Hmm im using Advan Ao48's with LSJ setup and my brakes hated me at Watkins Glen, 2 laps and done, but then again the Glen puts alot of heat in em, had motul 600 for my setup with Stopteck rotors and hawk hps.

Now I have ZZP BBK with Hawk HP pads and rear lnf calipers, we'll see how that does, I probably make about 280whp on E50

That should make a hell of a difference. I can't even imagine brakes being done after just 2 laps...
I think the Hawk HPS pads were a big part of your problem. I've ran them at the track before on my LNF and they plain sucked, took them off and threw them away lol
Then I got Hawk DTC-70 race pads. Man oh man what a difference!

Since you aren't boosted, I'd stick with the LSJ brakes for now. Definitely get a better pad.

My car is boosted. M62 running 9psi currently. I dont see a need for the Brembos aside from being able to say " I have brembos" at this point.

Going to Willow Springs this weekend with Hawk HP+ and Powerslot Rotors on the car all around. Jesus the Hp+ grab a LOT harder than the HPS.... I shoulda done this a long time ago.

Ah scratch that then, I'd still try a few different sets of pads and go from there, you'll *probably* be ok with the LSJ setup though.

Welp I've officially tested the ZZP Big brake kit at Thompson Speedway CT, results were great not a bit of fade. Definitely requires a little more brake pressure, but not much more. So compared tio last outing at Watkins glen i was getting fade after only a couple warm up laps and 1/2 attempted hot lap, with the HPS brakes/powerslot rotor combo and motul 600, So I made the change to ZZP BBK drilled and slotted rotors, and Torque r700. I'm sure this setup would still work well even with Full out Race slicks, right now running 60 Tread wear Advan A048's. However I am truly in the need for a trap door oil pan, scary watching oil pressure drop every right turn.

The HPS pads were your problem. When I put HPS pads on my car several years ago, thinking it was an upgrade, I lost several seconds off my lap times and had major brake fade after just a few hot laps. I went to Hawk DTC-70 race pads and they were the upgrade from stock I was looking for. Personally I don't think the BBK is worth the money. I'd rather save up for a set of Powell's floating rotors

Just signed a deal with Fujita Brake. Hopefully starting at the next race in September we will be doing some R&D for them on a new semi metallic pad for the non Brembo front calipers. I will definitely be posting more info up once the pads get here.

Score! Great news man! I'm not familiar with Fujita but hey if they're doing the R&D for you I'm sure they will come up with something that works well ! Congrats!
