My FTD run from today. This was a different club than last time and there were 79 drivers.

I was able to get FTD Saturday and Sunday. It was a blast with good battles for the top spot both days.

This event was by far my best result in PAX as well.

Sunday

I'm starting to get curious if I'd be able to hang with the Civics in SMF at a bigger national type event.

I'm thinking I will be doing that this winter along with chains and guides. Certain course layouts, like the one over the weekend, cause me to be on the limiter more than I would like. What could I rev to with just springs?

They weigh less and usually are starting to play the aero game, at least with what I saw. I ran against Jinx Jordan's SMF civic when i was still in the carolina's and that thing was insane. Aero, wing, super wide hoosiers, nothing interior wise.

We have tested them to 8 but your cam phasers are limited to 7400 roughly. They will be vetting put through the ringer soo. Midget car guys are testing them to 8500 with solid lash adjusters this season. We tested to 8 with no failures during our tests but didn't see a need to go passed that.

omg i hate the internet today, this is the third time I've tried to post this so forgive me if it doesnt make sense lol

2006 ls
autox and daily driven

I've been running in TFSP class and am pretty comfortable their.

"power wise"
short ram ingen intake
2.4 intake manifold
zzp long tube header into a ss/sc cat back exhaust
and a set of polyurethane trans mounts

suspension
currently on ss/sc springs and ss/tc dampeners
fe5 front control arms
5x110 conversion
ss/sc front brakes, the white box el-cheap-o stuff
still rocking the rear drums
ion redline 17 inch wheels with 225/50 bridgestone potanza tires. dont remember which ones i got them off a customers car that complained about the noise so they where free, and way better then what i had before.

i was running ebiach sportlines for i think 5 events this year till one broke and I got the ss/sc springs from a friend. i like how much easier to control the car is with the ss springs but it leans HARD. so much so that the last event I ran i had so much inside wheel spin that i was belching trans fluid from the vent on top. called it a day when i found that.

this off season i'm thinking yyz springs, powell control arm bushings, maybe a rear bar, and some real tires, or i'm gonna get a miata lol

any input or criticism is appreciated.

The rear bar makes ALL the difference. I had to take mine off the other week for some warranty items before its up and it really handles quite different.

I have essentially the same goodies you're looking to get and it does wonders.

I've thought about dumping the sunroof too, I never use it, didn't want it and would be fine without it. I don't think it would help my lap times as much as spending the $500 on track time could. I'm guessing the glass and hardware is something around 45 to 50 lbs, by itself that's not going to equate to much in lap times. Now if you gutted the interior and got serious about dumping weight along with the sunroof delete, then I would expect noticeable improvement.

ZZP 1.25... butttt I also have no front sway bar.

Sunroof comes in at 28 lbs, for all the bits. Changed how we are gonna do it, and so it looks like it will soon be a 5 lb carbon plate with carbon standoffs, legal per Global and Redline time attack.

I already ditched the backseats, all the trunk crap, and am putting lighter sparco's in to try and get the weight now... damn eg honda's.......

debating between 2x wedge brackets custom drilled for the sparco side mounts, or 1 from wedge and trying to drill the corbeau i have now, haha.

Ok then I guess I need a fat bar in the back lol, what about my front bar? Should I bother switching to an SS bar being that I'm an LS? Fox what lead you to the decision to take yours out?

What are your trying to do with the car? If your road racing I recommend the front bar especially if you go with the xxx bar. It comes around really good when paired with the lnf bar.

I meant it's possible to increase front grip instead of using a rear bar.

This I know. I like the way the rear bar feels. Cars flat

I got tired of the tripod/doglegging that the car did. So started unhooking the front bar for autoX and it helped keep the front down a lot better and no more tripod. Then after talking with some of my friends with Honda road race cars, we decided to leave it unhooked all the time, and when the transmission got pulled earlier this year, said eff it and just yanked it totally out of the car.

*shrug* maybe I'm nuts, i dunno. but with the D2's on the car, it seems to work pretty well. Im hoping to put a set of BC racing custom coilovers on this winter - valved and spring'd based on weight, tire size, etc.

So... Disconnecting the front bar helped the rear wheels stay level? Or is my drunk ass thinking of this backwards?....

that's what hes saying. cars as they twist will be on 3 wheels sometimes. aka tripod.

in time attack or road racing you don't get that effect. its mostly during auto x due to the abrupt movements.

I've never heard of disconnecting a front bar to reduce tripodding. Higher front spring rate or more front bar would reduce that.

No front bar just does this all day.
