Anyone ever have their rear brake shims bend? The inner ones were bent so I pulled them all off. Now it's too slippery for me to set the brakes.

I should start working on my cars one of these days, but I have ZERO ambition. I've never been hit so hard by the winter blues as this year, maybe its because it happened so early while I was away on vacation. I haven't touched my cars for almost 3 weeks already, and I don't see anything being accomplished in the near future.

At least I got to shoot my guns on Saturday when it was half decent out, so that was fun.

Well ya you came from AZ back to cold and snow lol. I usually have no problem dealing with winter but I must say I agree this year. I just wanna have summer back and rip on my car! But I guess the last 2 falls my car has been blown up so I didn't care as much that I couldn't drive it lol.

Maybe once we get some real snow ripping on some demo sleds at work will cheer me up a little haha.

Our snow melted a bit this weekend so that made me happy lol. I think I'm heading west on a sled trip in a few weeks so maybe that will break it up a bit, its just too early for this weather. I told my family I don't need anything for Christmas besides a plane ticket lol and they know I am being serious, and if not then I'll just buy one and GTFO of here again this winter. I wish I was old enough to rent a damn car when I'm down there I've bookmarked a few houses for sale down in AZ haha.

Thanks a lot Taylor with the turbo info now I just have to sell my brother on the 5431e and not the smaller one! But as Jon said a 385hp max turbo would be fun with a light RWD just not fast enough to keep up

No problem. Think about this once, a 385hp rated turbo is good for about 38.5 lbs/min give or take. That's smaller than a stock Evo 8 turbo, and only 2 lbs/min bigger than the stock K04. Which means on pump gas you'll get real low 300's whp out of it with that older RWD trans. And that's running well into the mid 20's lbs of boost. The 5031e would be a nice choice if you want to go smaller, but the 5431e would be the route I'd go especially with a built motor and a head that can support some RPM's. I'd go a little bigger actually, but I understand what he wants out of it. Just to put it into perspective, even the 5431 is a couple lbs/min smaller than Dustin's 252et.

That's weird. maybe the shim unhooked from the pad and made a space between it and the pad causing it to bend when the piston pushed against it

I think I got moisture in my boost gauge sender, which is under the hood. In the garage over night it will work the next day for half the drive to work, then boost gauge freezes in place wherever it's at. When I get home and in garage for a while it starts working again lol. Guess I'll have to check. So odd

Dustin you gonna trade in that tiny ZFR that's been in my closet for a year for a 7163 this Black Friday? I think you're due for an upgrade.

I know, I've been saying I need one for years just to build credit and have an autopay feature or something so it pays the balance off 100% each month. I need to just get one lol. Only reason I took a loan out for my truck is so I could build credit and not run myself near dry, so it was a win win situation haha. I'm usually a cash guy, call me old school
