So i got The power Steering recall sorted very happy how that went and i also bought a new set of Rubber from gm 225/45/18s for my cobalt ss rims,
Then a gave it a good clean on the inside and decided to treat her to a rain scented freshener.
The next day i went to my to my HHr and the fluid in the freshener had leaked out and took the paint off the waterfall and leaked into my dvd headunit.
It melted the bezel arround it melted the volume buttons and the touch screen stopped working. Bollox
Just Venting
Good news though I installed a new head unit it is a android based system called asteroid smart and i must say its freaking awesome

Hey how are you I have. 2006 Chevrolet cobalt SS myself as well and I do know for sure I still have a few open recall on the car and a couple of weeks ago was driving thru busy traffic and some sort of writing came on my dash showing power steering so was wondering if that would be an issue and that I should go maybe to the dealership and get it look at.
What did you to yours and about your recall what did they replace and did that cost you anything for new parts or everything's was cover by the dealership and General Motors (Gm)

Hello buddy I had the same issues with car as you did describe your problem and I knew I had some open recall still left on my 2006 chevrolet cobalt SS so I went to Southgate gmc of Macleod trail over a month ago to book an apts and to get the job done
At the end of it the service done to the car was great the staff was very helpful and friendly and didn't have to paid for anything since it was all cover by General motors
They had replace the power steering electric motor, the ignition and etc... Alls at free of cost
Good luck to you 😉✌️
