Powell

I went to visit Powell Race Parts on Friday and picked up a rotated mount for my LNF.

my old mount wasn't broken, just wanted to stop the trans from moving so much.

I am truly impressed at the difference it made in my car.

No more clunking when putting it in first, no more jerking when letting off the gas abruptly, my trans doesn't try to pull my car into the curb when accelerating over a dip in the road, etc etc...

I am so happy with this mount!!!

And despite what other people have posted, there is no associated cabin vibrations. It dramatically cut down on the amount of vibration I was getting when slowly taking off from first gear.

For those of you that don't have one, buy one from Powell, its 'mind blasting'.

John, Gloria, thank you both!

PS, can I get a pair of control arm bushings from you guys too?

They are a great product and company. The ppl that have vibration issues didn't install it correctly.

Doubt I'll be driving back anytime soon... Its a 240km round trip from my place. Took about 3.5 hrs there and back with traffic and half a tank in the wife's Sentra.

For me, shipping my future purchases will be much more economical.

They are very nice people though. Traded some tips and tricks, tried to trade the wife's Sentra for his 'vette...

They made a very good first impression. It was my first time dealing with/meeting them and they treated me like an old friend.

I've driven from Cambridge a few times. The 407 is your best friend on that route. Yes its pricy but you don't have to worry about Traffic. Just shoot up to the 410 and you're set.

It's well over 300km for me. I just take my time and cruise along on the side roads.

John is great to deal with, and takes care of his customers. Recently went from ZZP's trans mounts to the prs and it feels like stock again when it comes to vibration ( ZZP's aren't even as bad as the hard poly mounts). I also have the prs oil separator, cab mounts, and yyz springs, and they have all been quality pieces.

John doesn't sell any such thing as a low quality part or even mid grade, really goes the extra mile to get only the best, you should see the non OEM he just junks because they were cheaper and after testing not as strong. I couldn't believe what I spent taking the 407, it was 259km each way but not a bad drive.

I'll be picking up an oil separator tomorrow.

Always remember kiddies, if a new version of ANY part comes out it doesn't mean the old one was bad especially if it's from Powell. It just has been improved!

Prob $40 ea way. I took the 407 for 2 months and had a $400 bill lol. But saving 30 minutes a day well worth it. And you can get in 130-140kph groups and not get pulled over.

Yeah the 407 isn't cheap, but it's almost worth it to avoid the traffic.
I'm sure John enjoys not having pissed-off-because-of-traffic-people showing up too LOL!

Johns shop is 1.5 hours away from me and i use him as my mechanic. I even drive the 3 hour trip to him for simple stuff like an oil change, because i dont trust anyone working on the cobalt but him.
