so i was just informed by a mod that we should make a new thread for the fastest quarter mile times. I think it should be a thread where the fastest times should be posted. The throwdown is fun, but i think a list with the fastest times for all of our platforms will be good. I also think that when we do make a new list, there should be an lsj section for cars still using a supercharger, and a modified lsj section for turbo swaps and or nitrous or things of that nature.

Nitrous doesn't matter. If you start keeping that in a different group, where will you draw the line that it's just a mod or needing a different group. Meth? E85?

- LNF
- Turbo LSJ
- SC LSJ
- Turbo/SC 2.2/2.4
- NA 2.2/2.4
There honestly is not that many 2.2/2.4s who have posted up anything, so combining them shouldn't be an issue... If they start posting more, split them then. But at the same time, we need to keep the LNF and turbo LSJs apart, because they can't compete. The fastest turbo LSJ(who's not ZZP) listed would be the #8 LNF so that would suck for them.

those don't sound too bad. but like you said once you start getting into the nitty gritty of splitting people up, where do you stop... what about instead of having turbo and sc lsj classes we just have m62 lsj and non m62 lsj. turbo, twincharge, tvs, nitrous, twinscrew, etc would be in non. so that way lsj powered ONLY by the m62 would compete against eachother.
but i think having just a turbo category would be good as it'll get the turbo lsj's to step up their game. a lot of us just haven't been able to make it to the track. once i get my transmission i guarantee the only cobalt on this site that i'd lose to is ryans car, and maaaybe matt's.

i think leaving it how it is but adding a turboswapped LSJ sectionw ould be good. also remember that there a people (such as myself) that dont own cobalts, but are on here for the M62 support that will want to be on the list.

I think we gotta pull the turbo LSJ into their own group. It will let them be "lazy" and not go against the LNFs, but will allow more of each group spots for more people to try to get on the lists. Having room for 30(LSJ, turbo LSJ, LNF) people will get more people involved, while only having 20(SC and turbos) spots will limit the list, and then more people will get discouraged when they have no chance. Yeah this is for the bragging of being Top 10, but why not let more people get out there and see how addicting drag racing is?

but we don't want them to be "lazy" lol. we want competition!! we could definitely have more that just 10 spots though. maybe just an ongoing over all list where people can keep updating their best times and then LNF, M62 LSJ, NON-M62 LSJ, N/A 2.2, F/I 2.2, N/A 2.4, F/I 2.4

Would be overrun with LNFs. It would need to be at least 30 cars if we don't split them somehow, just so everyone can even have a chance of getting on.
Maybe we combine the two ideas. Split into groups. Don't have a cap of only 10 cars.
If we don't cap it, make the groups easier. Turbo, Supercharger, NA.

so what if its overrun with lnf's??? the point of having a "list" or competition is so the people that are on there, deserve to be on there. if you set it up to where as long as you go to the track you make it on some list, who cares. theres no competition in that

And when it's overrun with LNFs and no one is participating in the thread because they can't get on it at all, where is the fun in that?
3 groups(Turbo, Supercharged, NA), cap it at 15 each. That gives 45 people the chance to make the list, while still giving everyone a chance. Turbo LNFs are against turbo LSJs or even 2.2s and 2.4s. Supercharged is putting the M62(on any car, be it a Cavi or Sunfire or whatever) against the TVS crowd. NA is ... well, NA. But they deserve to still be able to showcase what they can do.

while i beg to differ about the lnf's being on the top lists i think that the turbo lsj's should have their own section. Thats the only thing i would change. TVS is still a blower and the car came factory supercharged so its still supercharged. If youd like to put TVS in the mods list than do that to let people know but i wouldnt make the supercharged class into two.
we already specify if its on st or ds.
