The problem isn't from having to shift from 2nd to 3rd before the line. Even if you aren't wot on the gas you're still carrying what, 85-90mph worth of momentum, it doesn't slow you down that much. But you do have a half second to drop in the 60' alone.

I was roughly in the 75mph range crossing the line, but what you are saying is I probably need more practice with the slicks. It was the first time I ever drove with slicks and I never successfully did a burnout.

from what ive been told you dont have to do a crazy burnout to heat these things up and still pull 1.6s on them.

Bump this one from the grave...Cmiller8006 what was your rim make and model? Was it a 15 x 8 or a 15 x 7?

And it was a 5x110 bolt pattern correct?

I'm running 15x7 rims, with the smaller M&H 23" diameter slicks, which are
really 23.5" diameter...
I'm not running tubes either...
I talked to the "tech" guys 1st at M&H, & they said that 7" rims, without tubes,
was a-ok.
I have been doing this for 3 years now, with no issues, 12.39 best ET
You can use 5x110 , or whatever bolt pattern that your Car is setup for...
