I've got an 06 SS/SC running an 09 LNF LSD trans, it's been in the car for over two years and no problems. A few weeks ago i was doing the oil change and notice A LOT of gear oil on the sub frame and splattered all over the place. I freaked out and ripped the trans out of the car but before doing that I checked it and it seemed full. I cannot find where the hell it's leaking from, it shifts fine, runs properly. I removed the Slave/TOB to check behind there but there seems to be no leak. I'm confused because when I separated it from the engine it spilled about .2-.4 quarts of fluid. Any suggestions? I'm a bit stumped

As you prob already know there is only 2L of fluid in the trans you would notice if it leaked out a puddle. I'm guessing you know how to check the trans level? If its out take the flywheel off and check the rear main. I have a trans out I'll look but input shaft is the only place I'd see it leaking in the bellhousing

My thought exactly, I'll pull that flywheel off and look at it. Im also going to drain the trans and see how much fluid is exactly in it. It needed an oil change anyway lol

If it's out replace both the rear main and the input shaft seal the $40 is better than pulling it again. i just checked the trans I have in the bellhousing the only way it can leak is from the input shaft seal unless you installed a custom window into the case like I did

I bought the input shaft seal but I think your right about it being engine oil because i just completely drained the trans and about two quarts of oil drained out. The input shaft seal sits on the TOB am I correct?

Hey do you happen to know the part number or the specs for the clutch pipe o-ring? I got it all back together, go to bleed the clutch and it starts spewing fluid everywhere, come to find the seal is missing. I DO NOT want to drop the trans again to replace the clutch pipe. PLEASE HELP!!! :LOL:

are you talking the little seal that looks like a hat in the bleeder?

no the o-ring on the actual clutch pipe. It goes on the black part that sticks out of the trans

look in the bleeder sometimes gets stuck in there

That's the first thing I did and after 3 trips to napa and autozone and 37 bucks later none of the "universal" o-rings work, it just leaks right out. Im getting very frustrated
