curious about this cv axle
Would this work on a 2006 cobalt ss?
Heri 70295 New CV Axle
CV Axle Assembly-100% New CV Axle Front-Left/Right Heri 70295 | eBay
ABS Count: 0
Comp-In: 20 9/16
Comp-mm: 522
IBJ Spline Count: 34
IBJ Type: Female
Interchange Part Number: SN-8026, 319026
OBJ Spline Count: 33
Curious because it states on eBay and Amazon that it will fit but the spline count is not 27 tranny and 33 hub.

I found it originally at that Amazon link. Then found that Heri exists on Advance Auto Part's websites.
I guess I am really asking: Does the spline count not work out? And, is the IBJ type supposed to be male and not female?

The pictures in the beginning of the thread are accurate. So either the description/picture of the Heri part is wrong or their compatibility is wrong. You'll either need to verify which is wrong before buying or take the risk.
Considering the comments on some of the other axles listed as "compatible," I wouldn't trust those compatibility tools at all.

This is very true. I had to beat the tar out of a wheel bearing to get if off. Someone please tell me how corrosion forms a better bond then any epoxy available? Anyhow, had it happen twice in one day at two different places. First time I managed to screw up some threads on a spindle nut. Called ahead and sure enough they had one. I even confirmed it was for the turbo application. Sure enough, just as I had feared they come out with this tiny nut. They were able to fix me up with something though, but was for a different application. Later in the day I discovered all the beating I had to do to get the wheel bearing off, even with heat somehow hurt my CV. One parts store in the area ( Advance) had an axle on stock. Off I go at 4:30 on a Sunday to get it. Sure enough, the guy comes out with a tiny axle, then proceeds to argue with me they thats the only size they make. I had the core in my truck so of course I brought it in and laid it side by side. Also had it happen with the other wheel bearing. And rotors. Something about the LNF platform. so many mislabled parts!
