Replaced clutch and tob. possible input shaft noise?? need help
Ok so after hearing what I thought to be a bad tob 2 years ago when I bought my lnf, I finally had a local shop install my gmpp clutch. Car drives great and everything feels solid. But the problem is I still seem to hear the tob noise. My mechanic says it sounds like an internal trans issue but I am leaning towards a bad input shaft. What do u guys think I should do considering I drove with this noise the whole time before the gmpp upgrade?
On a side note it's a 2008 lnf and the symptoms are clutch out=loud metal sound. Clutch in=no sound. Tob, clutch, new oem lnf flywheel, new slave cylinder line all have been replaced.

After hours of more searching I'm almost positive it's the input shaft bearing. What else should I replace with that. Also where do I buy the input shaft bearing?

Ahh, good luck finding your solution. The fact that I just got my car back today after a month and I still hear the noise has me thinking of trading it but I owe too much on it and gotta get this fixed. Hopefully my mechanic will cut me a deal considering he did the clutch for 400 and wont accept my payment until I'm satisfied.

never heard a grind but more like a clicking/chattery noise. could most likely be the input shaft, i had a problem like that running an after market clutch kit. in never got worse though in the 4 years i ran that clutch. i was thinking it was the clutch chatter, but was never able to find out for sure because it didn't break or anything. car shifted fine etc so who knows for sure.

So my mechanic says he cant repair the input shaft because special tools that only trans shops carry can. So looks like I'll be waiting a bit more for a repair.

Curious to see the vid. I have a thread below this one with the same issue. I don't have the editing power to make a good quality acoustically dialed video. What a mouthful!

So if any of u watched the video, u probably see I need a trans. Found a few on car-part and want to know if anyone knows if junk yards ship parts?

That is a failure of the input shaft bearing.
The part itself is 10 bucks. However, replacing it is another story. The F35 is very difficult to pull apart unless you have special tools and the knowledge.
it does not require a transmission replacement immediately, however, if/when the input shaft fails it will destroy your clutch + pressure plate and probably the bell housing.

I found a few online. Do they(the 4.05) bolt right up to the lnf? Do I need to get retuned to calibrate the speedometer for the new gear ratio?
