short shifter install issue
well I installed the ottp short shifter, tried it after and couldn't find 5th gear. its there, just not where I thought, the reason being is somehow during taking apart averything, I broke the reverse lockout slot thing on the plastic base that u have to unscrew to get shifter in and out. I don't even know when it happened or where the piece is. so ****, its pretty annoying cause its kind of the guide to make 5th easy to find and to lockout reverse obviously. 5th is now a pain in the ass to get into cause u can go to far right and not find it now. so does anyone know where to get that part? im gonna look at auto wrecker but it be nice to just get a new one shipped.

really? then I wont buy one. I made my own, I think ill get a small piece of thick plastic and make a proper one. so my shifter doesn't have to slide on aluminum when I go into 5th. if u want I can make u one to. its not to hard. took me about 15 minutes to do a half assed one that works really good.

u cant have it to far to the left, it centers itself out. the big issue is that fifth and reverse are really not in the same spot. like u cant go straight down from fifth to get into reverse. u have to move further right and go down to get into reverse. idk if I did something wrong or its just effed like that.

4 freaking hours to get the shifter housing off. The one stock bushing must have been crimped in at the bottom so it was grabbing the thread on the stud, it turned and everything but wouldn't pull up off the stud. So after a lot of rotary tool sanding and cutting disk cuting swearing and prying that bastard came off. I had to drill the top washer part full of holes and slowly chip away at it till it fit through the bushint hole on the housing so I could get that out of my way. I'm so exhausted . I'm gonna lay on this hammock now and no one better need nothing cause I'll smack em. So no not at all smooth

You guys have to adjust the cables after installing the shifter. Everything will work as it should then. Just one note. If you adjust the lock nut and shifter ball to far down you will bottom out the spring and won't be able to lift the shifter high enough to get over the reverse lockout.

by reverse lockout I mean the plastic part the shifter is supposed to hit to lock it out.
