What is this...?

I just finished replacing the line that runs from the clutch master to the distribution block on top of the trans with a hard line. Definite improvement in pedal feel and engagement.

What I removed is a bit of a mystery to me? I searched the stamped part number and came up with a "master bias proportioning valve". Anyone know the function of it? Almost seems like a valve to restrict fluid volume to the slave?

I got rid of it.
Basically, it is a valve that aids in providing a softer feel of the clutch pedal.

I thought so... I much prefer the new feel of the clutch.

I was thinking GM did it to prevent drivetrain damage like they did with the hydraulics on the 98-02 F-bodies and Vettes.

I'll probably be replacing mine with a solid line if you say it improves pedal feel.

Yeah it's probably a clutch delay valve type of device, ive seen them on the non-ss cars but never investigated further.

It's the no lift shift modulating rotary solenoid assembly. By deleting that you just deleted NLS.

That was great. To be honest, if I didn't know better it would be scary
