DD 8s are some good subs. IMO thou the freq range on the 8 and 10 are pretty similar. 12 slight diffrence and 15 isnt out yet.

Watch out for the new 500 8s coming soon. i cant wait to play with em

Isn't that funny.
I'm looking at putting 2 DD 8's in my new car. Run them off an M1b
Either that or 1 2510
If I do the 8's I was going to do them sealed on each side behind the back tire, if I go with the 10 I'm going to seal off the trunk and port it up through an 8x4" hole that already exists in the back deck lid.
Nothing crazy, no pods, just replacing and re-amping the fronts (3" and 4" comps) and putting a little bit of thump....stock systems blow, even if there in a BMW

Spun ive honestly never heard a non ported DD. Ive always been curious about a DD in a sealed box as usually I prefer the sealed setups. But Definitely agree ALL STOCK SYSTEMS SUCK. Some just suck less .

For amps I was thinking of going old school honestly. Something like an old school Orion HCCA 275G4 should be decent for a pair of DD 8s that wont ever see max volume or spl events. Either that or will keep looking for one of the zapco reference amps. For the fronts I will probably just do a set of hertz components and use the zapco i force amp I have for those.

Don't worry about it, I have come to the sad realization that there is no harness for the car, all the guys at 1addicts (BMW forum) have used LOC's, its weird that metra makes a DD dash kit for the car yet no harness.
I think the radio plays a big role with the CPU, cuz I can do a lot of things through my radio that effect the whole car.
It will have to be a relocation or I'm leaning towards the Audio Control 3.1, or some kinda in dash unit from A.C.

Thanks anyway, but I think the 7" touch screen won't be happening anytime soon.

As for the DD's in a sealed box, I know what they say about ported is best for them, but the guy who does the work on my car has a 350z with 1 3512 in a sealed box running off an M3, and the same 6.5 comp that I have running off the monster 2 channel S2 and it sounds really nice, of course I'm sure it won't put up the kinda numbers (db) that a ported box would but the sound is awesome. I told him he was crazy when he started the whole thing but I ate my words about 2 weeks later when I herd it.

Those Orion amps a great, I have a HCCA 250 along with a whole closet full old school amps, there a bitch on the power drain but there tanks, they break the car before they break them selves

I got one in there haha

Man I got a 15" in today. Took me like 6 hours. Had to take out the back seats, the spare tire, and the cover over all of it. Man was it a pain. All in all not sure it's worth it but I'll let y'all know

I'm sure if one of the wide edges was angled instead of being a corner, it'd be a lot easier to put the box in.

A 4th order BP, or even 6th order BP (one port through each speaker hole) would be pretty interesting!

I used to run a hdc318 in 6 net cube box @36hz on a bc2000d in my g5 in the rear seat with the rear deck and trunk sealed off, with rexxx6.5c's up front on 250rms each lol

and I have an X6.5SW in my standard cab s10 that I absolutely love. Gets down on 400rms in a .35 net cube box @ 37hz
