Jl w7 vs fi
I have a jl w7 12 at the moment and im loving it, exept for how it doesnt get the lows to well, would the 13.5 jl w7 be better for the lows? And i was thinking of maybe getting a fi, anyone have experience with them? Or is there any other sub out there that can get the highs like the jl w7 and the lows

I bet it's not much tuned under 40hz. My rf power hx2 12 box, I built at 29hz (wAy low!). I'm building a motor I got from an re hc and I'm on the fence on who I want to rebuild it, but most likely psi will. Fi is stupid pricey

You'll have to do some research and do some math, or pay somebody to design a box for you with a cutlist for your wood. If it's your first time I suggest you pay for the design, it's very important the person knows what they're doing, a lot of calculations, and the properties of the sub itself, come into major play! And if you go low, you lose the higher frequencies you're used to hearing(40-100) depending, because the box will be tuned for lower hz, so you'll be listening to a lot of decaf and searching for low hz songs. I have a slot port box that is 2.75ft^3. And I forgot my port dimensions, but my spl guru hooked me up with the whole design. He uses psi only...they are local to us here in Memphis.

in a ported box its tuned to a specific frequency. generally that and a few hz close it it is going to be the peak volume the sub will reach. a sub can still play higher freqs over tuning decently but lower will fall off quickly because theres no pressure and the sub acts like free air. So if you have no lows chances are your box is tuned to high. You would need a new box to be tuned lower
