This is true.

OP Remember just because the RPMs are high doesn't mean you have to have the pedal to the floor.

Light throttle until the RPMs are above 3k then shift. Otherwise you will be way too low in the RPM range on next gear and need too much throttle.

LDK poor mpg

I almost always shift over 3k, first to second I shift at 3.5k. This reduces the load on the engine and you'll get better MPG.

Ok. So I started to pay more attention to my shift points. I was actually shifting closer to 3k from 1st -2nd, 2nd to 3rd and watching my boost gauge. I started shifting after 3k and my mpg went from 21.2 to 22.5 in a day. I was definitely shifting too soon. Still getting familiar with this car. My first TC and when I got it last year it had the porous block and took like 4 months dealing with getting the engine replaced. Thanks for all the replies.

BTW I just logged some data with Dashcommand. What are the main areas I need to look at, like MAP, ST/LT fuel trims, timing.....etc

Thanks, Mike

I shift at 2500, when i'm up to speed on the street, I put it in 5th if possible unless it's under 1300 then I stay in 4th. 5th for stealth mode though. Then 67 on the freeway, I would avg 23.5 mpg and inst mpg on the freeway is 33.

Wow I'm getting 25-27 on e47 in combined highway/city driving. I used to get 27-28 on 93. Pretty happy.

OK, so I got my tune adjusted and my LTFT are good around -0.8. So far only up to 21 mpg normal driving about 60% hwy 40% street.
