Making E85 an option.
I couldn't find a better section for this so bear with me!
For where I'm at, E is a 60 mile round trip in the opposite direction from where I work and live. I can't see myself affording that option. However, if I can bring the fuel to me, I think I can make it worth while.
Has anyone ever hauled around a 55gal barrel and topped it off, drug it home and done your own fill ups via the garage? I drive nearly 300 miles a week so I'd kill a barrel in a month or a little less. Currently I'm running methanol and water to help with boost on my 2.4L, but if I can run E, then I won't need meth and I'll be able to advance my timing table.
So has anyone ever done the barrel method? If so how did it work for you? What barrel did you go with, steel or plastic? What style pump did you use with the barrel? How did you lug the barrel back and fourth from the E station?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

Honestly, I may just give this a good college try and see how it plays out. If it works, then I'll roll with it and just keep a laptop handy incase I need to switch to 91.
Not sure if I want to buy all the trailer setup for my car to lug around a full barrel of fuel, or find an old truck and use it as a beater to get the barrel full and back home. Hell maybe the passenger seat delete method will work for this haha.
