08 evo gsr?
I know there are threads everywhere about this but they don't help much. Hers the situation. I can get my hands on a 08 evo gsr with 36k miles, for just 20k. I have a cobalt ss tc 115k miles. It puts down 316/341. However, I need to buy new tires and suspension needs replacing. What to do? What do you guys think. My options are to fix said problems and upgrade to zfr. Or buy the evo and try to shoot for 400whp. What would you all do? And my cobalt is paid off. So this would mean more payments if I decide to buy the evo.

AWD is not overrated. Do you even have a 400 hp cobalt? I do, and it sucks trying to hook. I'd take a 400 hp Evo over a 400 hp Cobalt any day, considering their stock turbo can do that.

If the payment is nothing to you and 400+ hp is a goal then get the evo for sure traction is a friend
If the payment is iffy keep the balt zfr swap it and fight traction issues with good tire/suspension setups roll races and a driver mod

What also stops me is the fact that the car weighs about 3800 pounds and it takes a lot more money to make 400awhp. I gathered this information from an evoxforum

Evos equal overweight pigs. AWD is garbage unless you are rally racing or in the snow. Cobalt stock turbo can get close to 400hp. Evos are overpriced and reserved for nut swinging shitsubishi Tokyo drift wanna be fan boys

my opinion on this is to keep the cobalt if it is not turning into an endless money pit.
If you can afford the evo and want to getrid of the cobalt, then do it, the evo has less miles and as you said it is unmolested.

No idea what you are talking about lol. The stock k04 can not get near 400 hp lol. It doesn't flow enough air
