ok... upshift question... i only do this when racing...
i try to shift really fast, so right when i shift, i dont give the engine time to drop rpms, and i let off the clutch. i feel a jerky lurch feeling...
is this bad? am i messing something up when i let go of clutch too fast when engine and trans arent spinning at right speeds?

My impression is that you're shifting way too late. The tach in these cars lag, so even with a stock one you need to initiate the shift somewhere around 500 rpm BEFORE redline to get the timing right.

The fact that you're Trifecta tuned probably has a lot to do with it - the car wasn't designed to do NLS on different engine maps. What's more, you're probably timing the shift wrong.

Slow-Moving Traffic
Situation: the driver finds himself or herself in a heavily congested flow of traffic. Sometimes the cars ahead come to a full stop. In between stops they sometimes crawl at approximately a walking pace, and at other times speed up substantially only to rapidly slow down again.
In this situation, stressful for a new manual transmission driver, it is important that the driver remain calm and focused. The driver must remember that to prevent the engine from stalling at any time, all that is required is to depress the clutch pedal all the way down. The trick is to keep moving smoothly while maintaining a generous gap to the next car, and stop and resume if necessary. It should all be done without slipping the clutch. The driver should monitor the traffic as far ahead as visibility allows, to anticipate whether a complete stop is about to become necessary.

Our transmission isn't designed for clutch-less shifting, DO NOT DO IT. Yes, you can do it easily in the RL. SS/SC are hard, but possible. Essentially what you do it drive in 2nd gear for instance. Let off the gas, NOTICE its very easy to pop out of gear if you let off the gas without touching your clutch. If you rev'd to about 5,500rpm in 2nd let off the gas and IMMEDIATLY just push the shifter from 2nd to 3rd, it will let your right into 3rd. I've done it multiple times, I don't recommmend EVER!! Your pretty much grinding the **** out of everything in your tranny. So just use the clutch.
Don't quote me on the rpms. I never look at them in the Redline because its in the wrong spot(center dash). :P I listen for my shifts unless I'm pushing for drag racing, then I watch all the way to 7,200 rpm.

All you're doing is fuuuucking up your synchros. If you want to wear your syncros like that, that's fine, but I like my transmissions to work for more than 15,000 miles.
Think about how much abuse a clutch is designed to take. They're pretty stout when you consider it, right? Now a synchro is only designed to allow what should be a neutral shaft to match an input shaft, not a loaded, accelerating shaft. We're talking a few foot pounds. If you want to throw hundreds of foot pounds through a synchro that was designed to take forces closer to the scale of a dozen ft-lbs just so you can say you're shifting without the clutch, then go ahead, bot don't be surprised when you find you're locked out of gears that you're not PERFECTLY rev matched to.
bratboy, this post wasnt aimed at you either...its really to anyone who does this.

not gonna read the whole to find out, but has it already been stated that when you drive a stick, much like your own stick, you should keep you hands off it until you're ready to shift?
