GM Rolls Out Comprehensive Performance Exhaust Portfolio

As part of GM’s commitment to vehicle personalization, the company has developed one of the industry’s most comprehensive performance exhaust portfolios by any original equipment manufacturer to date. Through the second quarter of 2006, GM plans to release systems for 19 vehicles in GM’s lineup, including the new generation Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. By the end of 2006, GM plans to have performance exhausts available on 30 GM vehicles.

“GM Accessories made this commitment to our customers who want a performance exhaust with the peace of mind that comes with an accessory that is designed, engineered and validated for their vehicle,” said Nancy Philippart, executive director, GM Accessories. “Our Performance Parts team has delivered a comprehensive package that meets our high standards and will satisfy even the most discriminating enthusiast.”

The GM Performance Exhaust System is constructed of T-304 stainless steel, Mandrel bent piping, semi-polished, S-type mufflers and produces two distinctive sounds: the “throaty purr” of the Touring system, or the “aggressive growl” of the Performance System. The exhaust tips for these systems are fully polished and branded, can be adjusted, and come in a variety of styles.

The performance exhaust systems were developed in conjunction with GM’s vehicle teams to ensure proper fit and function and compliance with all Federal safety and emission standards.

“The cat-back exhaust is an important part of our personalization portfolio,” said Todd Kovacic, Performance Parts program manager. “We wanted to make sure the fit, safety, emissions, fuel system integrity, and crashworthiness were up to both engineering and Federal standards. Working with the program teams early in vehicle development enables us to give customers a better product.”

The GM Performance Exhaust System is also backed by the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which provides added peace of mind for the consumer. The exhaust system also features a lifetime warranty for the original purchaser.

I dont know about the cobalt exhuast, but the I do know that the C-6 exhuast is borla. GM recently picked up borla to do their exhuast, instead of corsa.

Hmm. I like the "covered under warranty" part, but I don't think a cat-back would really cause any hard to the car anyways. I need to make a decision fast though, cuz x-mas is coming!
