well thats pretty cool. so from your experience, would a rattle and a grinding mean its time for new needle bearings? because that's what i am getting.

Could be the coupler or even the rotor pack also.

I want to say people usually don't have issues with the needle bearing on the M62. It's really easy to take the supercharger off and check the coupler and replace the oil (don't buy the GM over priced repackaged Mobile 1 Syn Oil)

Do you know the specifications of the oil?

I am using the supercharger oil i got from ZZP. but you could prob put any used motor oil in it if you want to. the oil in the supercharger doesnt really go bad or get burnt up from my knowledge.

and i am running a 2.7 pulley which i have been told will lessen the life of my bearings. and i thought bad needle bearings is what makes the rotors scrape anyways.

Staged or Metallic had a convo with a GM engineer or Eaton engineer and they said use Mobile 1 Syn motor oil

This is interesting to hear. Especially since the stuff you buy doesn't smell anything like mobile 1 nor does it feel like it has the same viscosity. I wonder if this is recommend by eaton also?

In the Duramax world we get conflicting things all the time. GM says use Dex6 in the Allison but Allison the company says TES-295 fluid only and the Dex6 can cause problems. I normally go to the manufacturer of the part.

Get a few miles on the oil and let me know if it doesn't smell burnt lol

I changed it at 50k and it was a pretty nasty smelling oil.

All it's doing is lubricating a few bearings and some gears, if you're close on the weight its not going to cause significant damage. You're not dealing with a complex system like an auto trans where the fluid is pressurized. It's just an oil lubricating bath.

Missed this early, you don't want used oil. That will have combustion contaminates in it. You want fresh oil.
