Weatherstripping (?) between hood and windshield mostly gone?
Sorry if there is a thread that mentions this, but I didn't know what to search because I don't know what this would even be called. Here are the pics.

You can see where there is very little of the black weatherstripping between the plastic piece and the windshield. How do I fix it? Is it even necessary to fix it, other than aesthetics? Sort of disturbing that I can get fingers under the glass, but maybe that's normal and I've just never seen a car do that before?

It's probably a good idea to replace that, it doesn't keep water out persay. But it does keep other larger debris out to keep water from puddling.
I found a diagram with that part in it, #7 here, but no part number was associated with it.
WIPER SYSTEM/WINDSHIELD
Another with the same part but no associated part number.
COWL for 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

All of our nearby salvage yards are now you-pull-it, "we might have one or two of those cars" type affairs now, and have been for years. Basically useless. Also, It seems like a bad idea to replace something that literally just rotted away with another piece that can't be any newer.

Also, YelloEye, thank you for hunting down the diagram.
