I bought my SS with a K&N CAI. It got water in it because the previous owner didn't install a cover for it.

Does the ZZP one not need a cover to protect it from water damage? I didn't see anything about covers for them on ZZP's website.

The cai's are good for dry but not as good in the wet due to them being positioned either behind the bumper or fenderwell. Try using a hydro shield as it helps keep the air filter dry unless you submerge it. Here is one that should fit your air filter.

I deflects some water and dust from getting in the cottons. Repels water somewhat.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I ordered the K&N RX-4990DL listed above. I'll update this thread once I get it, to see if it fits.
