Thanks guys I figured I had nothing to worry about, didn't seem like I lost any power, and the car feels better, and more responsive. In my future is an Intense Stage 5

That's just what I've always heard from many people on this site... and that was the case on my SS/SC... before the car was "broken in" boost was limited to 10 PSI... after break in... it opens up the other 2 PSI...

well mine went to 12.5 psi from the start. im guessing they were either afraid to take it to full boost, or just didnt watch it cuz they werent used to shifting it yet?

no not necessairly. For example when you pull the - on your battery cable everything resets... the computer is diffrent from that time to say 5,000 miles later where the fuel and air maps are calibrated.

find a wrench or ratchet the same size as the battery bolt and just take it off. You won't hurt yourself unless you touch the positive and negitive side together.
For the record my car was not boost limited to any certain milage. I was hitting full boost from day one.

YOu will spark up however if your on the (+) and you touch any metal causing it to ground out and weld your tool...its quite fun to see

You've just gotta watch how long the filter is... the cone has to be a really short one or it'll hang down too far.
That's true... definately fun to watch.
Saw a guy removing a battery with a ratchet... swung it around and hit the negative post while he was loosening the positive... sparks went everywhere.

QUESTION: I just noticed you can get the filter that comes with the 2.2/2.4 GMPP intake individually (88967478). So has anybody tried it with the air box mod?
I'd like to try it but I'm concerned it might be too large.

i think it might be a bit snug going on but im sure it will fit. the only thing is that,in canada anyway, the filter is futchin pricey. like i pay $60 and thats cost at the dealership that i work at. i think its like over $100CND if you walked up and bought it over the counter at a GM shop. now i think CED has them for cheaper. what i don't know is if they are washable of just replaced after there full of crap. we'll see this week i guess

I used the K&N E-1009 and left the bottom of the box off. I have only gotten the CEL on two different days with high humidity after a heavy rain. I found on one of the forums that they do have an update for the computer. I talked to the dealer and they found there was 3 updates for the computer. One being for the CEL showing the engine was running lean. I have not gotten another CEL yet but I can keep you updated.

Now im not sure and i could be wrong, but i thought that when u do the mod that if u should avoid using the cone filter(less hpor something) and go wit the same kind as the stock (more round)i'll prob buy the k&n E-0777, anyone else use this one?...thanx...

The whole point is to use the cone filter... the airbox bottom holds the stock filter in there... so when you remove it there's nothing to support the stocker. Plus, a cone flows better than the stocker too.

I ordered my GM 2.2/2.4 filter too yesterday. When it comes in I'll update as well and maybe even dyno it before and after ($30 for 2 runs).

It's not the outlet size I'm concerned with... it's the actual length of the filter... the cone filter for the Airbox mod is fairly short... the GM filter may be too long.
Oh... and where the crap did you find a dyno for $30 for 2 runs? That's a steal!
