hey guys ...ss sc cobalt u seem to be pretty knowledgeable about this mod..but this is to anybody who actully did the mod ..i really want to do this mod but from reading the responses from people who have done it i jus dont want the cel to come on...i went and bought the same filter from pep boys as ss sc cobalt did when u do the first mod if i use that filter, would i have problem if dont disconnect the batt. on the neg. terminal or even if i did disconnect would i still get the cel.....? jus a question

also why dint u have to put oil in the dryflow ? does it have a thicker membrane how is it different then regular air filters

dry flow is an aem part# 21-2110D it uses a synthetic filter media that doesent need oiling, in fact oiling will ruin it.

you can order them from jegs, summit, etc about $45

as for the pep boys filter, do not over oil it, keep it way light and let it sit for a day or 2 before you use it after you oil it. the problems with this stuff stems from the oil getting on the MAF wire.

bottom will go back on if you want, and dont worry so much about the code GM itself said it doesnt affect performance, just annoying

Ya know with that being said I wonder if GM will put out an Update to keep this from being an issue. I mean they at the moment don't have a need or real benefit to do that but I wonder if folks barked often and loud enough something would get done. That is the only thing keeping me from going with an aftermarket intake.

go to autozone or something and they can use a code scanner to get the code.
