Thank you. I was thinking of maybe getting smaller LEDs and have it spell out COBALT, COBALTSS, SS/SC, or COBALTSS.net

I just bought the LED brake light from Modern Performance Nitehawk LED Third brake light conversion kit. It cost 28.91 with shipping. Its just the board and some sticky tape.

I also bought the Modern Performance LED light strip, but I just installed the Impala light strip in its place. I find the Impala light to be way brighter, and more easily seen during the day. Boy am I glad I found a wrecked Impala at my local junkyard. They let me have the light board for a few bucks since I bought a bunch of other stuff that day.

Here's what my back end looks like now:

You can go to most high end sign shops and they will make up led boards for you.

check it... just got mine in the mail today and its awesome, took all of 20 mins to install the connector that came included DID NOT hook directly to my factory harness so some line taps and a little whire did the trick.

im sure this is alot cheaper than buying that brake light at the dealer.

I just installed the brake light yesterday. * Much thanks to the O.P. for his help*
The proper part # for the light is 10319332
So this is the LED 3rd brake light with the IPCW Bermuda Black tail lights

I'll try and get a better picture when its light out, the camera does not like the LED's when its dark

Thank you

The only problem I think might arise is the "bass" factor.
I'm worried about my subs shaking it loose.
I think I have a solution
The Impala light comes with a grey piece that would be equal to our crome housing. If you look at the pics of the blue balt on the prev. page its sitting infront of the case of water in one of the pics.
This piece has clips that hold the LED board in place. Since I don't want to hot glue gun the LED board down and I don't see the 2 way tape standing the test of time, I was going to use the dremel and cut just the insert part of the impala piece out and glue it into my crome housing the just clip the LED board in. IOn theory it should work but like any other DIY mod there is a 50/50 chance so...
I let you if it works

hey man is it just a board with the leds on it? the glue i used on mine is called e6000. i bought it at hobby lobby and its held up pretty well. The double sided tape fell off, the CA glue (basiclly thicker hardcore superglue) broke as well since its so brittle but the e6000 is a little more flexable and has done me well. id see if you could find it

damn that actually looks pretty badass. how all did you do the inner leds? half and half or different resistors

one of the members here did it, and I am pretty sure it is a variable resistor and a bypass for the brakes/turn signals for either side. The LEDs on the inners were installed by him too. Turned out great. The Outside ones are from Ebay.
