How To: Drain The Tank
Tools needed:
-Fuel line removal tool. Found Here. or two screw drivers and a third hand.
-Fuel line, ~3'. Found Here.
-GM male fuel line fitting. Found Here
-Gas containers. capacity determined by how much you drain. won't need more than three 5gallon tanks.
-16g wire
-Alligator clip
-Thin eye hook
When ordering fuel line from the link above, make sure you change the quantity to your desired length in feet.
Make sure you have a battery charger/tender hooked up while draining this way. Because the car is not on, running the pump may drain your battery all the way down.
First you'll need to make your own "bypass wire". I did this by taking a small shafted eye hook and using it in reverse. Soldering the wire to the eyelet and using the shaft as my male prong, as regular male prongs are too wide for the fuel pump relay contacts. Next take the alligator clip and solder the other end of the wire to one of the grips. I forgot to put heat shrink on so i just ended up using electrical tape. But it should look like this.
Next take the fuel line tool and remove the fuel line from the rail. You can do this with two small screw drivers but you have to be careful. I always the smaller diameter end.
Take your 3' fuel line with the fitting on it and attach it to the main fuel line on the car, making sure the fittings snap together
Now open up the fuse box and locate the fuel pump fuse. Its number 3412, near the top bolt. Remove that fuse, placing the male end of your bypass into the bottom left slot, closest to the bolt.
Then, making sure your fuel line is in the tank ready to drain, connect the alligator clip to the terminal. This will kick the fuel pump on and drain it all out. You can turn your key to the Accessory position and keep an eye on your fuel level. When its at empty or close to it, you can stop draining and throw in half a gallon of your new fuel. Then continue to drain the tank untill the system is flushed and now only has your new desired fuel in the lines, e47, e85, 110, 112, etc.
To stop simply disconnect the alligator clips. Then removed the bypass, reinsert the fuel pump relay. And disconnect your fuel line from the car's and connect it back to the fuel rail.
Voiala, drained tank, new fuel, very simple to do.

Because there's no fuel getting to the engine to make it run when you've got the fuel line disconnected to do this...
