CF trunk ( Pics !!!) 56K beware
Yo whats up? I installed my trunk last week and its pretty self explanitory. I just wanna give you guys a heads up whos ordering it that there are no pre drilled wholes in the trunk. You have to drill them all yourself. ofcourse that doesnt count the trunk latch and 2 wholes for the reverse. those are drilled. but the small 1/4 wholes have to be. And also do this in tempatures 75 degrees or higher or the CF will crack. Trust me on that I installed mine in 30 degree weather and it was flipping freezing. and i also have a tiny crack in mine from that but nto noticable. so have fun w/ the trunk. the CF also weighs next to nothing where as the stock trunk weighed about 32 lbx plus 10ish for the SS spoiler
Ryan
ill get picks when i clean my car. its been so cold out side the water would just freeze

The only legal colors to have on a car while it is on the street is amber and white on the front, red or amber on the back and you can have white on the back only when in reverse. Also it is illegal to not have red reflectors on the back of your car, even the Lexis suv's that have clear tail lights have red reflectors on the bumper.
booooo better to know now than get a ticket, as im guesing there are similar types of laws in canada.

I like the spoiler on it too...I am going to go with a carbon fiber one. I think the yellow will look good with the carbon fiber hood/trunk/wing....now I am debating when to drop the $$$

Wow. I still can't believe anybody would want to drive around with a black hood and trunk b/c if they painted it nobody would know its carbon fiber. It just makes it look like the body shop had to replace the trunk and used the trunk lid off a different color car....

Totally agree,
IMO if the wing was left at the curb instead of being put back on, it would look better.
More to that, if the Trunk and Hood were painted to match with minor CF Details showing, you would get a 100% from me.
The point of CF is Weight, not Look Cool..
Here is an idea of what I did to the P5. The Hood was painted white but the front left side decal of MAZDASPEED was masked off and shows CF under a clear coat. Also, 1" is left NAKED close to the windshield. Unless the car is Black, CF looks odd IMO... Weight Savings, Not really good for "Cool"
(Hood amd MISC Stuff!)
Extractor Hood Almost Done! It's being painted white with the exception of 1" by where the windshield is...To Avoid that ghetto look of a black hood on a white car...
The CF Hood, A-Pillar etc are all going tomorow to get painted white to mathc the car...
CF is Ghetto on a White car...
Ok, Carbon with 4 Layers of White, 4 Layers of Clear.
MS In Carbon and a 1" Strip near the window.. ENJOY.. I will.
