For those wondering how the grille attaches, here are some pics from when I replaced my grille (with another stock one). You may be able to remove with the bumper in place, but I had the bumper off anyways, I was hit on Turkey day and fixed it myself after payment from the insurance company.
To remove grille:
1) Remove two trim clips from top of bumper to grille. Pull up on middle of clip and then pop out entire clip. Clips located next to the hood bumpers.
2)My gerber (silver pliers) is pointing towards the square headed screws that go into the bumper foam and must be removed for the grille to be removed.
3) Unclip the grille from the bumper. You can use your fingers to pry them and pop the grille. In the photo the tabs are red and it takes some thought to get all of them without re clipping others.
Another picture for reference.
And finally, this is what the grill looks like when removed (except yours is probably not broken). The holes are where the badge attaches for reference to the top bar.

i need to redo this mod. the mesh fell out of mine the first winter with the grill.
all those cuts for nothing.
someone needs to take a picture of the back of the grill after they apply whatever adhesive they use.

any black will do. when painting the mesh i doubt you'd be able to tell the difference.
i need to re-do mine too. the top grill is coming apart, apparently liquid nails doesnt like michigan winters. bottom grill is fubar due to raccoon... or chunk of ice.. im not quite sure which did the damage.

any1 experiencing any whistling or rattling? going to give this a whirl this weekend, i've been bored of the stock grill for a while now. btw, every1s grills look great i see 1 i like and then i see another 1 i want to do, then i see yet another great custom grill!
i would imagine mesh with small holes really reduce airflow, but only at high speeds. going to do the top and bottom this weekend, might pull the front bumper off for ease of install =P
