I'm bumping this thread so I can save the link when I'm on my laptop later.
I'm glad I saw you guys post ways to paint the rims because now I don't have to get them powdercoated! FTW

How long does the Plastidip usually last? Will it hold well even during a wash & wax?

Never tried clearing it before, and do a few light coats never letting it dry completely between coats, until you get an even full coverage

from what i heard, if you dont spray it on thick enough, it cracks and chips off instead of peeling off nice and easy.

i've had mine on for about 4 months now (wheels, front lip, headlight housings, interior trim), even went on a 2800 mile round trip from FL to NH. Everything looks like new, after a good wash of course, just dont scrub too hard. I did thick coats and its holding perfectly. A buddy and I experimented with painting different colors over the plasti-dip. It wont seep through as long as you use thick coats, its just hard to peel of when you paint over it. So i guess clear coat will work fine if you decide to use it.

I might use Plastidip to change the color of my Brembos. Red looks like a nice color. Just a thought, though. I won't do it for a few weeks.
