i've had mine on for about 4 months now (wheels, front lip, headlight housings, interior trim), even went on a 2800 mile round trip from FL to NH. Everything looks like new, after a good wash of course, just dont scrub too hard. I did thick coats and its holding perfectly. A buddy and I experimented with painting different colors over the plasti-dip. It wont seep through as long as you use thick coats, its just hard to peel of when you paint over it. So i guess clear coat will work fine if you decide to use it.
