agreed, google is such a great site.

I know your busy, but it shouldnt be to hard of a change given the vacuum pump, valve cover vent and EGR valve (only sources I recall without pulling out the service manual). I might be able to help you with the ALH development (gf drives one and I need to replace the EGR valve and check the intake for coking)

Alright Powell, I will look it up. It's surprised me that Chevy are not looking for that issues for DI right ? They should know what's causing this problem and fix it. This is what scares me having that gunk in valve and if something happen with carbon fell right in to 1 of the pistons ring then it's over. I think.....

The biggest issue is there was like 10-15k LNF engines sold in the cobalt (might be over shooting that number honestly), so its not a huge deal. Also they probably went well its a 100k mile plus issue and BMW, VW, Audi, Mercedes, etc. all have this same issue, ppl will accept it as a service item just like a timing belt.

Solstice, Sky, HHR, and countless other vehicles. You even have ATS and all of the Buicks that could suffer from this too.

It seems like the Corvette may be one of the early cars to have changes to prevent coking.

Still a small portion of the vehicles they sell, highly doubt enough ppl would or will notice the issue. Hell VW has sold hundreds of thousands tdi's with an intake coking issue over 10years and they don't have a recall or solution other than checking and cleaning the intake mani is needed.

No I don't think it is. There are numerous vehicles that have non boosted versions as well.

LAF
LEA
LCV
LKW

Those are in mainstream vehicles like malibu equinox impala. ETC

I'd guess in the millions when it's all said and done.

thats a dry sump tank not a great one either; they have to be changed for track use. There is no windage tray in the sump. That is not an oil seperator it is an oil tank reservoir. there is a difference.

Powell, I looked up in CobaltSS.Net and I see your PCV upgrade picture. I see 3 port, 2 port on the side and 1 on the bottom. Where that bottom port go to ? I don't see any picture of where that bottom port for return oil back into ?

with respect I am not going to go into exhaustive detail so i can spend more of my time helping you figure out hoiw to make it yourself. common sense says you can figure it out yourself, not off my back. YOu should also follow the threads on here to learn more or google it. If you are trying to be annoying, you are doing well. Mann Hummel make lots of different seperators, thanks.

Oh Yeah, I have come back and can't justify $400 dollars for this. If I can justify $400 dollars then it would be worth to pay. No offense Powell, I do understand your business and your time. From what you call that respect and from what I see that's no respect to talking to a customer trying to justify $400 dollars worth of PCV upgrade. Make Sense!

So when you have 350 into parts and still have to construct this. Powells price is good for a ready to install unit that he put time into R&D for.

not so much questions as statements: like "mann hummell have changed the design of the seperators" etc.

go fish.
