How to install Cling on tint!

Buy ur Cling on tint this tint is applied in the inside of ur windows like any other window tint! (I BOUGHT 3 PACKAGES OF IT AND IT WAS PERFECT U CANT JUST BUY 1 U NEED 3 PACKAGES OF CLING ON!) i only did Side windows and 6 inch lip on front because i didnt want to hit the rear defrosters!

Things u need:
Razor
Scissors
Squegee (or a credit card or something)
marker!
Spray bottle filled with warm soapy water!
and a big smile! (lol)

Step 1 side windows
I took the paper thats wrapped around the tint and i made a sketch around the window to see how much tint i have to use and to cut the tint to make it fit perfect!
Step 2
once ur sketch is done u lay the tint over it and take ur razor and cut it out so u have less tint to work with!
Step 3
Spray the hell out of ur windows with the hott soapy water and spray the tint to (cling on is held by static so u getting it wet will make it stick)
Step 4
start putting the tint on ur windows and just keep applying pressure around the window to get it to stick
Step 5
take ur squegee and start flatting it out to get rid of the bubbles keep squeging and adding water at times.
Step 6
If u have it overhanging on the bottom like its just sitting there take a razor and cut so it ends right at the end of ur window but make sure u have it pushed down as much as possible so it looks good!

THEESE STEPS ALSO APPLY TO THE BACK SIDE WINDOWS MAKE A SKETCH THE SIDE IS QUITE EASY!

STEP 1 ( FRONT WINDOW SIX INCH LIP)
Lay Ur tint on the front window outside of the car aim it up where the black Line of the mirror is its the perfect line up for u to do on ur car!
Mark it with ur marker where its going to be cut then take out ur razor and cut it
(U MUST TAKE OFF UR MIRROR BECAUSE ITS EASIER TO MOVE AROUND IT IF ITS NOT THERE U TAKE OFF THE CONNECTION BY A CLIP ON THE BACK (LIKE HOW A PHONE CHORD HOOKS IN) ONCE ITS OFF U SPRAY UR WINDOW DOWN. SPRAY THE TINT! AND START APPLYING IT LIKE U DID WITH THE SIDE WINDOWS BUT UR GOING TO HAVE TO CUT OUT THE SPOT THE MIRROR GOES IN! ONCE ITS ON AND U SEE THAT U GAVE URSELF TO MUCH TINT THEN TRIM IT OFF ITS THAT EASY!

DONT OPEN UR WINDOWS FOR TWO DAYS AND APPLY HOT SOAPY WATER TWICE A DAY AND SQUEGEE IT TO GET SOME OF THE BUBBLES OUT THE LONGER TIME THE MORE THE BUBBLES WOULD LEAVE!

ANY QUESTIONS JUST POST UP!

are you talking about the kind of tint you get from walmart? My friend bought 3 packs from walmart so we could attempt it on his old mustang it is the same basic steps (except the tint he bought had a clear coat you peeled off and it was sticky on one side). Just wondering for clearity.

I"m getting very bored here on my days off. I was thinking of doing this. I know it probably isn't the best tint, but think its something to spend an afternoon doing if it sucks and doesn't work oh well it doesn't damage anything, and if it works, all the better. Anyone have any other opinions of this? I saw this at Walmart today, girlfriend has nagging about being in the auto area and didn't know what transparency to get, so I had to leave w/o it.

I saw alot of people around here that did their own tint, and it looked purple. Something I definitely want to avoid. Does yours do that?

nope usually its because theres tint is old and gets like that after the sun goes down but if u want you should do regular tint on the sliding down windows its much easier to install!

I tried that stuff before and it never took right, always had bubbles no matter how much I tried. I gave up and threw it away. But if you can get it to work more power to you!

u need to heat it with a heat gun otherwise the bubbles will stay there but thats why you use a lot of water and heat them with the heat gun to evaporate them the longer the tint sets the better itll look.

what about the rear window? I heard there's a certain way you have to do that particular one.

Wheeewwwww! I thought you were using that cheep ass crap from Wally Mart. I bought the same stuff but with the sticky glue and did my neon way back and inside a year the tint started to bubble and change colour. Now I have never used that static stuff so it sounds interesting.

cheers.

rear window you make 2 pieces and then fold them over each other, then you find a hidden spot that you dont see to well and cut the overlapped film there. i seen our tint guy do mine and it doesnt really seem that hard

you can get rear window kits and do it in six inch strips but its a PITA

Heater lines aren't a problem just put it on right over them. Did it on my old car nothing ever happened and i had it on for about 2 years or so

fit it over the window on the outside with a shop light on the inside make your cuts with a x-acto knife with a new blade. Also make sure the window is spotless you don't want to get dirt on the tint. also make sure that you are on the right side of the tint. some are clearly marked some aren't just check it and take your time.

yes sir.... a one piece on the back is definitely the way to go... on our cars though the tint has a tendancy to bubble and peel from the dot matrix at the top... just took it back to the tint shop and they used some sort of tint glue and now it looks great!!! anyone else have this problem on our cars?
