How to paint badges around car

I want to paint all the chevy emblems, ss logos, and cobalt insignia's black. What kind of paint should I use, and are the emblems glued on??? I also want to paint the wheel and brake calipers, can I use the same paint I'm going to use on the emblems for the wheels and calipers? If you need photos just ask.

Well the front Chevy logo is bolted in with 10mm bolts there are 2. They are located directly behind the Bowtie of course so you will need to pop your hood to remove the front. The back is stuck on with adhesive, I personally like the look of cobalts without the back one, but to get it off just heat it up with your gf's hair dryer then use some fishing wire to run behind it and remove. Can be taped back on with 3m double sides tape/adhesive. If you want to remove it completely use some adhesive remover such as goo gone or like product to remove the extra pieces of stock adhesive then WASH the area to remove the adhesive remover lol. But I used some outdoor gloss paint for my front Bowtie that way it holds up for rain/extra outdoor ****. And use a good clear coat to seal it in. I got mine at autozone. Just tape off the Bowtie however you want and spray with 1-2 coats of the spray paint, then 1-2 coats of clear. For the calipers you will need a different kind of paint. One that is heat proof. They make paint made for calipers and they sell it at autozone. You can use the same paint used for the bowties for your rims, but you have to be really good with a rattle can to make it look good. Oh and be sure to wet sand your bowties with a really fine grit sand paper before you paint them that way te paint sticks to it. Pretty simple **** really.

Oh and also, I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but please also check out the 'How-To' section of the forums and use the search button to search for posts. There are a TON of posts with pictures on exactly how to do all of this stuff. Hope I helped.

Before I knew of the inlays for the badges, I did mine the old school way - with black rustoleum and an artists/pinstriper-type brush. If you go that way, it needs two light coats, and the best part about it is how easy it is to correct any mis-stroke - you just run a tissue or "non-fuzzy" q-tip (I used poly tips that we have at work for cleaning sensitive electronics) - the chrome cleans real easy. For all the hassle of crouching down to do the badges on the car, I'd probably go with the inlays now that I know where they can be bought!

Any caliper painting has to use the stuff designed to handle the heat cycling. I didn't do my 'balt, but I coated the calipers on my Z28 with black caliper paint - I think VHT was the brand.
