We appreciate your enthusiasm, dedication, patience and feedback during the sometimes long and complex development process.

We hope you enjoy VCM Suite 2.2.0!

Ford V8 Tuning
Forget those external flash devices and separate tuning/scanning hardware and software packages, ALL-IN-ONE Ford tuning and scanning is here! Now you can tune GM and Ford using a single interface HARDWARE *and* SOFTWARE from HP Tuners. Our fully integrated solution encompasses hardware, software and licensing structures to minimize any non-tuning related learning or re-training.

From a hardware perspective our existing and proven MPVI hardware was designed with Ford protocol support from it's initial launch in 2006 and provides the same robust base for Ford tuning. VCM Suite software integrates Ford tuning into a familiar look and feel for existing users. Keeping the tuning experience as close to our existing GM solution was paramount to avoid re-learning administrative tasks instead of getting on with the job of Ford tuning itself. There are many new and unfamiliar parameters to edit for Ford vehicles and where possible we have maintained a similar functional grouping to the GM product. Basic functions such as reading, writing, table editing, comparing and other features remain consistent across both Ford and GM applications. Lastly, our licensing credit system has proven extremely popular and easy to use and it makes sense that Ford would fit right into the existing system with minimal confusion. Users will now be able to purchase "Ford credits" which are used and applied for Ford vehicles in exactly the same way in which GM credits are used for GM vehicles on the same MPVI hardware. Both single vehicle and year/model license types will be supported initially and additionally a new "VCM Suite Ford" base package that ships with 8 Ford credits is available to new customers and dealers.

To summarize:
- existing MPVI hardware
- VCM Suite software
- no external flashing devices
- all-in-one Ford and GM tuning solution
- seamless user interface
- consistent credit based licensing system
- new VCM Suite Ford base package

Supported Ford Vehicles:
- 05-07 Ford Mustang V8
- 04-07 Ford F-Series V8

This is our first step into the Ford tuning market and we already have plans and roadmaps set to expand our product to support other Ford vehicle types and enhance scanner support over the coming months, exciting times ahead for sure!

GM Duramax LBZ/LMM engine support
Building on our solid foundation from the LB7 and LLY engines, this release also brings support for the newer Duramax LBZ/LMM engine used in the following vehicles:

VCM Suite supports over 500 editable parameters for the LBZ engine and almost 700 for the LMM engine! Get your Duramax Diesel in top shape for performance competition with VCM Suite.

GM Vortec V8/V6 support
If you still want more then we have it for you... VCM Suite 2.2.0 also adds support for the 98-00 Vortec range of V8 and V6 powered vehicles. New VCM Scanner MPID support for late model GM ECM's
As ECM's get more powerful and complex the feedback to the tuner needs to adapt. HP Tuners "MPID" (short for Memory PID) technology allows access to advanced tuning parameters to give a more complete picture of what the ECM is up to during engine operation. Almost 50 new MPID's have been added to VCM Scanner for the E40/E38/E67 range of ECM's where applicable.

New MPIDs:
- SPARK (Base, IAT, ECT, EGR, PE/COT, DFCO, CFCO, FlexFuel, CatLightoff, Piston Slap, Launch, Cranking, Per Cylinder advances, TqMgt, Idle Base, Idle Adapt, Variable Cam)

HP Tuners VCM Suite v2.2.0 is Now Available! - Part 2

Online Credit Card ordering and Instant Application Key's
Since the very first release of VCM Suite we have been listening to feedback from our customers and tunershops on all aspects of using our products and interfacing with HP Tuners from a business perspective. Over the years we have implemented various systems to streamline or enhance things such as the credit based licensing system, application key based software structure, single vehicle licenses, the ability to license files for mail order tuning, the customer login page with email updates and other features. These features all help make the interface between us smoother and less likely to result in confusion or misunderstandings. Customers are able to help themselves via their customer login to important information regarding their product, purchases and available upgrades rather than requiring back and forth emails.

To coincide with the release of VCM Suite 2.2.0 it gives us great pleasure to announce HP Tuners secure online credit card processing facilities and instant application key service for new credit purchases.

In addition to existing Paypal payment methods, customers are now able to purchase directly via credit card. All aspects of existing online shopping cart remain the same with the additional option of direct credit card payment on checkout. For new GM or Ford credit purchases made via Credit Card or Paypal (excluding E-Check) the updated application key will be emailed instantly to the email address specified during the checkout process. No more urgent emails for a car sitting on the dyno on the weekend that you forgot to purchase credits for! Please note that customers who use Paypal E-Check will not be issued an application key until the E-Check funds have cleared which usually takes a number of days.

We think these new features will certainly please a lot of customers!

Also, it's probably a good time to remind existing customers that all current information about your product is available to you via our customer login facility. Things such as your current application key, available software downloads and general information is available there. If you have not created an account yet, please think about registering soon.

Review our general release & beta release methodology HERE.

A complete list of new features and bug fixes can be found HERE

Obtaining the update
All customers can login to download and install VCM Suite 2.2.0. Updates are FREE to all customers. MPVI customers who have never logged in, please create an account.

Please note that not all listed features and new vehicle types are available on serial interfaces.

For all ordering and pricing information on any of the new vehicles listed above, please see our Shop Online and Supported Vehicles page.

Interest for 2.2 tuning has been relatively low(~45 people have shown interest even at a minimal level on the 3 tuning software forums polls have been posted on) for the 6-8 months of development time it would take for us to even start a beta program for them. Add in the fact they were only used in a VERY limited amount of vehicles & ONLY for 2 years & then switched out for a new pcm in 07+ its doubtful we'll offer anything.

If I were to guess it probably won't be until sometime late in 2008 when we re-evaluate the 2.2 market at the earliest.

well i guess i can kiss HPT goodbye then.
only reason i wanted HPT is because my car club all use hpt on their cobalts, ions, and solstaces (100 members in car club and im 1 of the only 2.2 cobalts). so they would be able to help me in that sence knowing the program.

time to find other ways of tuneing now, hello MegaSquirt

Were those polls on the HPT site or on here? If it was on here I'm sure you'd find way more than 45 interested people.

I'm in the same boat as Delta, my friend owns VCM suite which would have made my life very easy, but I guess it's time to give up on HPTuners.

I think the poll was geared more towards professionals who would be using this more than just a one-time-shot. It wouldn't hurt to set a poll up here to see how many people would buy 2 credits or go to a tuner that used HPT...

contact efi live.... there supposed to be coming out with support last i heard for the 2.0 and 2.4 ecotecs...... im sure they could consider the 2.2 if they see a market for them cause I know the 2.2 is in need of tuning........ you should be limited to aftermarket support just cause you cant afford a higher priced car imo....... honestly if hp tuners supports the cavalier I dont see why they wouldnt bring support the base cobalt..... not bashing on hptuners for not doing it cause its a business and if they spend 5 grand on getting support for the base cobalt and only a dozen people actually use it and half of them people only purchase cables theres no profit.

someone soud try and see if its possible to use the 2.0 or 2.4 computers some way

I've heard some people theorize that you could use a 2.4 computer if you somehow disabled VVT. Probably just as much work as cracking the e16 as is.

Vote here for 2.2 tuning. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l-l61-performance-tech-45/hp-tuners-78462/

You have to understand though bill... that the market for hptuners is relativly low for us 2.2s because we konw right now we cant tune. and people are getting frustrated and just saying screw it and they go buy another car... i think if you put it out there or did more research then more peopel would be intrested but i know that I and many other people even here are intrested in the 2.2 my friend sent in his codes and everythign to you so you guys could see if you could crack it... so just keep us informed and please make an effort to tune us...
Thanks,
David
