some ******* that sits near me has been talking about his iphone all day. has been texting his wife because she was going to bring it to him as soon as ups dropped it off. finally had to tell him we dont give a **** about his fashion accessory and all the apps hes talking about have been on android for years and our maps are actually useful. the only people who care about the iphone are fellow ifags and most of the people in our shop use droid.

People really need to stop crying about Maps. Apple Maps is powered by TomTom, huge company that has been great at what they do for years. Apple has approached Google about updating Maps and YouTube and Google refused to do so. Once Apple dropped Google out of their iOS, Google said **** and finally updated the YouTube app. People that are crying about Maps need to realize that of course the maps that JUST came out aren't going to be as good as Google's app that's been used, tweaked and worked on for over 6 years. Turn by turn in Maps is already by far better than Google has ever offered in their Maps app. People need to stop being so ungrateful and realize that the company is trying to do it's best to give them newest stuff and this was the only way to do is since Google didn't feel like updating their app.

Ungrateful? Its more like releasing something that isn't ready and forcing people to use it. I damn sure wouldn't be grateful for that. I would be livid.

TomTom even stated they just provided the data to Apple the problems were not from them Most companies try to associate themselves with Apple, TomTom is jumping back screaming not it!

Luckily for me I still have Google maps with turn by turn Nav and it works flawlessly, better than my in dash sadly enough. Apple should have held onto Google maps a little longer until they had a chance to wring out all the HUGE issues their maps has. However in typical ipeep style we'll make any excuse we can for them!

Only the iDrones get all hyped up over the newest iPhones. I love how the media wants to hype this phone up as the most awesome phone to ever come out. Just now getting 4G? A lttle late to the dance as usual apple

Google has an iOS 6 Maps app awaiting approval. It is solely up to Apple to approve. | 9to5Mac

They updated YouTube and Maps AFTER Apple told them they're deleting their ****. Think about it, if Apple didn't want their Apps then why would they approve them? Apple has already made a statement that Google refused to update due to working on improving the android platform. Will Apple approve Google maps, more than likely.

you own an android.
all you want to do is complain about it so you can say the iphone sucks.
its a software related problem. it'll get fixed. and when google feels like it they'll release google maps for it just like they released the youtube app...which by the way sucks ass.
i'm using the website instead of their app. it won't sync video to my apple tv through the app. only sync audio, but through the plain website it will do both.
the hardware and os are made to work with each other amazingly, which is something android will never have.
the coding is way different, and thats just a difference in philosophy.
my phone is insanely fast and it pretty much has any features any other phone has. i never liked widgets and thats about the only main difference imo.
the only complaint i dont like about the iphone is i have to jail break to do a quick reply.
i can easily see what i get in the notif box, but if i want to reply it takes me out of whatever screen i was on and opens the sms app.

used turn by turn again last night and it was badass. also checked out downtown austin through the maps and it was pretty badass with the 3d view. plus i ran several speedtests in north austin ...not even central and hit 47 mbs down did another and hit 38 did another and hit 51.

i like the iphone because i can easily buy a new phone, type in username and password and bam all my ***** back like it was before via icloud.
i like being able to sync all my music into it. it hooks into my ss stereo and streams via usb ...something no android can do. even with lightning cable it still works.
it has an amazing recording quality mic on it. i've been to metal shows and recorded the whole thing in 1080 and it looked and sounded great, instead of "DSAFASDGASDGASDFASDFASDGFASDFASDF" the whole way through. that was with me being in front stage not at the back. all of the apps...free ones.
one last thing. i LOVE imessage. it syncs my computer chats with my phone texting chats seamlessly back and forth.
at the end of the day its about simplicity for me. i like the ease of being able to have all my data backed up, transfer it back on the phone and use the features that make my life simpler.

No I'm complaining because if Steve were still alive that garbage wouldn't have been released. Iphone is all about fit, finish and user experience. This app they released is anything but finished. I've never once said iPhone is crap, I personally don't like them and the one I had experience with left with anything but a positive experience. I do think they are great for people that want a smartphone but can't be bothered with making it their smartphone. I do however LOVE the excuses Apple lovers make for Apple.

Jelly Bean can stream over USB, I've plugged my phone into my car radio via USB in mass storage mode and was able to play music. Syncing music is as simple as drag and drop on Android...

i was stating why it is i liked my phone.

i know how syncing goes on the android.

i also know about mass storage mode. its the same as plugging in a usb.
only difference is i don't have to turn my phone into mass storage.

there is a huge difference between being at a drag strip and collecting musical notes from drums, bass, guitar and vocals. especially when you're trying to go for good quality. i've yet to see a droid be able to beat the iphone at that.
also i'm sure the android has plenty of free apps. but iphone has 750,000 apps out. lol.

not once did i say you guys didn't have those features did i?
nor did i ever say i didn't like android.
nor did i ever say iphone was better.
its like you're trying to convert iphone users by saying oh maps sucks, so iphone sucks.
either way i like my phone. and when its time to resell it, ill easily break even if not get more than what i paid for it.
then i can determine what phone i'll get next.



also don't know why you're so worried about steve jobs. haha. so one app was fucked up. last time i checked my stocks are still worth 700 dollars.

I am sick of hearing all of this android vs iphone hate. I am here to solve it all (and probably start some)

I had a iphone 4 until last June. Got an HTC ONE X. Traded it back for the Samsung Galaxy S3. I love the openess and customizability of android, but I am going back to the Iphone 5 next week. I like both platforms a lot and am developing for both.

Heres why:

1.Android is fragmented, barely anyone has JellyBean. My asus transformer prime tablet does, but thats because its ROOTED. If I have to ROOT my device to get features, thats the same as JAILBREAKING my iphone.


2. Galaxy s3 Freezes up due to stupid Samsung overlay. USE STOCK ANDROID NO ONE WANTS YOUR CRAPPY "UNIQUE" SKINNING (or atleast let me disable it!).

3. Features are taken out of android phones with OTA updates. Galaxy s3 local search was removed in an OTA update this last July. WTF?

4. Developing Iphone apps is lightyears ahead in terms of the tools used to make them. I worked at State Farm coding Android Apps, and although Java is easy to write, getting it to look the way you want is so much harder than objective C.

5. Android runs on a virtual machine, not on native hardware (like iphone). Thus, Android cannot be as fast as Iphone on the same hardware. The java language has to be interpreted on the virtual machine before the hardware can actually do anything with it. More so, its picky, so if the code is written poorly, the app will perform poorly.


Honestly, If Google made an android phone with Galaxy s3 par specs, but in the body of an Iphone 5, that would be my choice. I am sick of all the OEMS messing Android up.
