Front Wheel Drive?

i read on the "car and driver" website that the cobalt was gonna be in front wheel drive. the only reason im asking is because that is the only place i read it was gonna be front wheel. being only 15 and not being a car guy (thats what my brother is for) i don't know if that is a good thing or not what do yall say?

Front wheel drive is better traction in bad road conditions. But if you drive too fast they understeer like a mofo. Pretty much all compact cars are front-wheel drive, it's smaller and cheaper to build.
