You're thinking of the V6 version.

The flaw I see that Hyandai made was that they starting the Base at around no less than 25,000. The Camaro to be debuting in mid '09 will be pushing nearly 100 hp and lb/ft at about 2 grand less. The only downside I guess could be argued is the fuel economy and the 200 lb difference.

idk 225hp out of a stock boosted car isnt terrible, plus rwd, im just more of a hyundai fan cause my first car was a 99 tiburon which had 195,000 miles on it and it ran perfectly, so chances are im guna get one when they come out this summer, now would i be better off with the turbo model or the 300hp v6, i kno factory boosted motors will make more power in the long run, or will i just get more for my money with the v6?

it's got the 4b11 and it's RWD, who cares if it's a hyundai. They have confirmed that they are coming out with lightweight track editions. So I'm definitely excited to see one in Omaha and test drive it.

the turbo 4 is a 4b11 turbo.

http://genesisforums.org/genesis-cou...sis-owner.html

check this out, vivid racing and cosworth engineering are into the genesis big time. So is buschur racing. And they both know it's a 4b11t.

http://genesisforums.org/buschur-rac...-open-now.html

buschur is not into really anything that's not dsm.

http://buschurracing.com/

it's a 4b11t

The base coupe will not be anywhere near 25k. The v6 in 'Track' or 'GT' edition may come closer to that as it comes with 19's, brembos on all four corners, special leather interior, and all the other goodies.

The base coupe will be a simple 2.0 I4 turbo pushing around 212 HP on standard gas and 223 on premium. These will probably start around the 18-19k area.

None of this has any proof yet but pretty good assumptions/speculations on newgenesiscoupe (dot) com

I've started following this car since the Cobalt will probably become the Cruze or whatever, the Genesis coupe is a very attractive car, and who doesnt want a RWD 2.0turbo with the best warranty out there?!

Did you even bother to read the links you posted because even in the links its saying its the theta. The theta and the 411b share the same platform but they are definately not the same engine . Parts are interchangeable but its not the same engine and as of now they dont even know what parts with bolt up in the theta from the 411b, ,might be the like the hondas , the links you posted saying they confirmed its the 411b they didnt all they are saying is the damn engine has the same cams and your second link was to a site that only does dsm and it has a spot for a hyundai ?? . Even searched the first link you posted and look what i found the whole theta engine diagram thats in the hyundai Chapter 1. The Theta 2.0RS TURBO Engine

Nope, you're correct. It would actually be slightly more appropriate to say that the Evo uses the Hyundai engine since Hyundai did most of the development work on the the World Engine that's built at the joint GEMA (Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance) plant as well as other plants around the world and used by Chrysler, Mitsu, and Hyundai in 1.8L, 2.0L and 2.4L displacements. The basic architecture was primarily a clean sheet Hyundai design with some minimal input from the others. Each auto maker was initially going to develop their own head/top end but in the end many other those parts ended up being common to save development costs.

With that said, the Caliber SRT-4's 2.4L turbo, the Evo's 2.0L, and the Genesis Coupe's 2.0L do share some common pieces but there's also a significant amount of components that were spec'd differently for those engines by their respective manufacturers. In the end they are close enough that there should be some commonality for aftermarket upgrades which probably plays a small part in why aftermarket support is building (since companies have a broader market to cater to and can leverage R&D across multiple markets).

the sedan is almost $40,000, the V6 Coupe will be about the same as a 350Z(high 20s/low 30s optioned), the turbo-4 will be low-mid 20s

I was big on the Genesis as well, and its gotten less and less impressive as we've went along... Was supposedly going to be the cheapest 300hp car, etc... then we found out that it may in fact cost more than a GT mustang(for the 300hp V6 Coupe), which is pretty much going to make it a 350Z knock off with a Korean name plate........fail

just like the Sedan, $38,000??? yeah right, give me a $31,000 G8 GT, with a 93 tune and bolt-ons the G8 will put down 375whp

yup and as of now , no one knows what parts are interchangeable . people keep sayings its the evo engine and so much misinformation is being spread on the net.

the genesis sedan is nicer and more comfortable than any gm or ford vehicle under 50,000+. That car is fucking NICE for how much you pay. A g8 isn't even remotely comparable.
