AT&T Cell Phone?
Ok its another what phone is better thread. I am switching to AT&T, but i don't know what phone i want. The three i am looking at is the HTC Inspire, Samsung Infuse, and Samsung Captivate. I don't want the Iphone so don't suggest it. I know what it has and i like it just would rather have an Android phone.

You should be able to pick up a Captivate for pennies compared to the other 2, which are newer. Something to keep in mind. If you need a phone right now I'd say Infuse, but if you can wait then, the Galaxy S II will come to all carriers in the next month or two, and that's far and away the best phone in the world right now.

I love my Atrix, and now that it was an unlocked bootloader, the skys the limit for ROMs and costomization. the SGS2 is plagued by problems, so i would stay away from it until the US versions have their go around. I definitely want to play with one once it hits our shores...

Its pretty common knowledge that moto builds the best quality phones...just had been locked down too much. Now that the ban is lifted...they can finally compete is the custom side of things.

Okay... so answer my question. What exactly is better about the Atrix over the SGS2, other than build quality?

Any tech blog right now will call the two best phones the SGS2 and the Sensation. It's not some vendetta I have against the Atrix.

Yea i get really confused reading all the abbreviations and **** for everything when i go to do it so i end up just not doing it. or bricking the phone like i did on my droid.

The kernel basically determines how the phone's CPU and other hardware interact with apps and the software. So here's what I get out of it on my phone (HTC Desire).... double the battery life. By undervolting the CPU, my phone lasts me 2 days instead of one, that's a pretty big deal. It allows custom kernels.

That's kinda what I was battling with Erick161 about in an old thread. Anyway... in the case of an Atrix you might want root to remove AT&T's crapware that they install on your phone.

Ask if you can test out the phones. Some stores will let you, others won't.

Any particular reason you don't want an Iphone? I tried several phones before choosing and there was just no contest. Granted this was back before the Iphone4 was out.
