Kinda New - Well Making a Come Back
Didn't even take me a year and I had to get back into a 'Balt. Had an SS/TC until last year, sold her back to Scott Herbert where she originally came from, and he's got her out in TN now, with some more tuning and cutting up the SCCA circuits like he always has.
Last weekend, got myself an 07 SS/SC in Sunburst Orange, ZZP Stage 2, Dyno 255 at the wheel done by the dealership, DC Sports intake, Borla cat-back, Megan springs, looks like stock struts and about everything else.
Excited to be back in the Cobalt world, I love these cars, and the parts I'm going for, better suspension, torque dampener, other body stiffening and wheel shake reducing components, have nicely gotten more affordable in the last year or so, or well few years since i've done a build.
Edit - Have experience with Ion Redlines before as well, loved that car, this 07 is like the perfect blend between a drive train I love, and a sexy looking body.

I recently picked up a SS/SC and was thinking about selling it and getting a TC one. Seeing that you've had both which do you prefer. This is my first SC car but I've had turbo cars before so I'm pretty comfortable with working on them compared to supercharged cars.

The SC is easier to work on IMO, though you are going to more easily get better horsepower out of the TC, the LNF block is beast. With a stage 5 kit in the turbo you can push 900+ horses. (EDIT - thought I saw that rating on a kit a couple years back, could be mistaken, it happens, lighten up people, lol)
I opted for this SC because it was first, affordable, I paid 5700 for it with mods, and I'm not looking to be out there racing all the time, just wanted a fun little fast car I can tune on. If you're wanting to bang out as many horses as possible, I would go the a TC with the LNF block. If you're open to spend a little more and hunt a little longer, finding a good TC with the G85 package is the way to go. The LSD and traction components of the G85 package make it super fun to drive, on and off the track.

Um, no troll here buddy, but you guys are sure quick to judge now-a-days. I swear I thought that was a rating I saw on a Cobalt SS TC kit a few years ago, but could be mistaken, it happens.
This used to be a nice little community, now very quick to cast judgement, how the couple of years I haven't posted in here have changed the lay of the land. That makes me a sad panda.
Thanks for the warm welcome back though, to an actual enthusiast. You guys rock!

ecaulk, I was actually hoping to run into you, see if you guys still had that club up in Denver. We talked back when I had the TC, but I never made any meets due to my work schedule.
Guess if I'm a "troll" though, this whole point is moot.

Seems that way man, in every thread there are people here calling out trolls. Maybe the community has been hit hard by bored internet geeks, but have some faith guys, there are still some realness coming on and back here, even if we make small mistakes, lol.

I do get the troll comment, yeah, I've been looking and can't find that kit I thought I saw, I wanted to post a link so bad, ain't gonna happen, I was mistaken.
Found THE 900 HP Cobalt, but it was a total different engine and build. I do stand corrected.
And thanks, I'm enjoying getting lost in these tech threads again.

Sounds good man, my "new" 07 SC, besides the ZZP kit and a couple things, has nothing I would have done in the first month of getting her, like frame rails and twin subframe brace, torque suppressor and OTTP mounts. My wheel hop is ridiculous right now, but weather's warming up and it's time to get my hands dirty. Look forward to coming out and rolling with y'all.
