New guy from Kitchener, ON

New here, been lurking for a few weeks.

Got my car back in May 2014 with 289,000km from a dealership in Mississauga, who had bought it at auction from a Hyundai dealer. Unfortunately this means I didn't know much about the cars history. Car now has 330,000km (205,000 miles) mostly on 91 Octane fuel, about 6 months ago I switched to 94 Octane for a dyno day, I switched back to the 91 after the dyno day only to then end up talking to Kyle @ ZZP and find out I should be running 93/94, so its back to the 94. (which sucks when I go visit my parents, the highest available in their town is 91, the closest 94 is nearly an hour away)

Right from the start it had aftermarket headlights, tail lights, CF hood, and a CAI of unknown origin. Once I was under it I realized it had the GMPP catback. When I bought it it had the steelies in the picture below, so I assume the previous owner had some nicer wheels on it and took them off before trading it in.

In the last few months I've done some more in depth investigating and research. I took it to a dyno day and got a result of 225Hp, 206tq see the video here
Now I know it has the GMPP Stage 2 tune on it

I guess there is the slim chance that someone on here might recognise the car, but I'm not getting my hopes up. (Brake calipers are all smurf blue if that helps, lol)

I've since picked up a pair of 17" cobalt wheels for $300, but I'll likely be getting some SS/TC wheels from an 09 in the spring. The steelies are back on it now for winter, hopefully the last winter this car sees.

I've only had to do a bit of maintenance to it, all in all its probably been the most reliable car I've owned;
- SC Boost bypass actuator (first run on the dyno gave me 133hp, bypassed the bypass and got 225) Its since been swapped out as well as the solenoid
- Swapped out the no name air filter for a K&N
- Put new plugs in it just before the dyno day, just because I could.
- It needed CABs when I first got it
- Rear brakes are new
- Royal purple oil changes right around 9 to 10,000km
- Had an issue where the cruise control would kill the car, turned out to be a throttle body.
- Some parts I have for it and just need to find the time to put on are sway bar end links, fuel filter, t-stat (its moody, one day it's fine the next its acting like its stuck)

Plans for the nearish future;

- ZZP Long tube header & DP (ordering this week)
- Dual Aeroforce Gauges, green display (ordering this week)
- Replacing the GMPP resonator and muffler with ZZP units (also ordering this week, WOOT! for BF!) the gmpp kit has likely been on there for quite a while, the car is annoyingly loud, when you tap the muffler with the end of your wrench it sounds totally empty.
- I'll be ordering a new mechanical boost gauge in the near future, the original one is super glitchy when it works at all. (Getting an Autometer NV Series 3803, also a green display)
- ZZP Stage 3 tune, likely in the spring
- Dual pass endplate w/ Option B (I'll likely just modify the endplate I have, I'm a welder by trade so not a big deal, that said, I'll likely build my own reservoir for the option B as well)
- Brembo brake upgrade w/ goodridge SS flex lines
- Color change is in the future as well, I'm tired of the silver, however I have a hard time justifying a full on paint job ($5-8000 to be done right) on a 330k km car that I paid $2700, So I'm likely going to go the route of a wrap, already got a quote for $2000 for that, color I've chosen is Satin Pearl White, I'll leave some of the CF hood exposed, carry it up over the roof with a matte or satin black on the roof and then I MIGHT wrap the trunk lid and wing blade in carbon until I can get the real deal. And I'm going to get badges and some smaller parts done is a satin metallic green.
- I've got some LED lighting projects in the works, but that's just giving me a headache
- Over the winter I'm going to put some stock headlights back on it and rebuild these aftermarket ones, the lenses need to be polishing inside and out, rebuild with some green led/s and CCFL Halos. (Seeing a theme yet? it works in my head)

And who knows what else down the line. I have a lot of learning to do before I go too extreme. But that's what the search buttons for

Hows that for a long winded intro?

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the km are crazy, but it runs like a top! Doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil over the 9-10k km oil change intervals, kinda makes me wonder if a previous owner did work to the engine internally. Only one way to find out, and right now that's out of the question because it is currently my dd

Car needs to be lower, but with my driveway being as steep as it is, I already scrap the valence if I'm not careful. When and if I do it, it will have to be done with air, and the only kit I've managed to find says it doesn't work on SS or rear disk brake models, when the time comes I'll likely just buy it and make it work, the joys of being a metal fabricator/designer

Mine doesn't burn any oil between intervals either which is great. But I still do my changes at about 4-5000. I seafoam it at changes too to keep internals clean.

Keep in mind, I'm talking in km, not miles, lol, 9-10k km is 5500 - 6200 miles, and the oil I use CLAIMS to be good for upwards of 12,000 miles.

One of these oil changes I may save some of it and get it tested to see how well it has broken down.

I know. I still do the changes at those intervals anyways.
