On a small shot, you probably don't need to be retuned, as long as you have access to a wideband or do some logging in order to get the air/fuel ratio dialed in correctly. Stepping up any bigger and you probably should pull some timing.

Y not run a dry shot and 100% Meth or are you just going to run one size down on the fuel jet

Premixed? I'm assuming you mean that fuel is sprayed at the same time as the nitrous. I have a nitrous system on my GTO and the important thing is to have the air/fuel ratio just right.

Like I said in my earlier post, you need to use a wideband or do some logging. If you have the RPD option, it has a screen for A/F. You'll want the A/F to be a little richer while spraying than normal, generally at least one full point richer. If you are normally at 12.5 A/F while WOT, you'll probably want to run no more than 11.5 A/F when spraying. Never go too lean. Running way too rich will wash fuel down the cylinders and cause lubrication problems. I usually shoot for low 11's for safety purposes.

If your timing is set aggressively, you might need to pull a little timing or increase gasoline octane. Knock while spraying is bad. If you are logging a WOT spray pass, check for KR. I'm assuming you're running aggressive timing or else you wouldn't need the meth. If you are serious about nitrous, I'd ditch the meth and retune.

Use a window switch or progressive controller to control the RPM activation range. Do not activate the nitrous below 3,000 rpm and deactivate the nitrous well before you hit the rev limiter. Never spray unless you are WOT. There is more to nitrous than throwing a basic kit in and pushing a button. This ain't the fast and furious.

Lol whom ever said no is truly wrong. Tu.ING doesn't always mean get fuel trims inline. If op puts a shot of nitrous to the car (timing is a factor and same with afr) to rich will cause power to be lost , to lean same deal. To much timing you get kr, to less you lose the reason to do nitrous. So tuning is needed.... End thread.

Most of the time you don't need to pull timing until you are at the 50-75 shot range. If you reread my post I did say this:

If your timing is set aggressively, you might need to pull a little timing or increase gasoline octane. Knock while spraying is bad. If you are logging a WOT spray pass, check for KR. I'm assuming you're running aggressive timing or else you wouldn't need the meth. If you are serious about nitrous, I'd ditch the meth and retune.

Unlike most people here, I have actual nitrous experience.

For those that keep insisting he needs "tuned" is there something that needs done with a wet system other than maybe timing? Or do you just mean he needs to get the A/F ratio correct? The fuel is dealt with by using different jets.

A bunch of parrots just saying he needs tuned without stating why means nothing. I know Chevycobaltss3 is a tuner, but a small shot of nitrous is not rocket science, make sure the A/F ratio is good and make sure you are not getting KR.

Do you know the afr of a lnf? It's lean for most but is rich for direct injection. #1 reason for lnf issues is to high of boost to quickly in rpm band. #2 heat. The lnf makes alot. Wether he has stock or lowered then stock timing. it needs tuned period.

AFR is only important at WOT with nitrous. Spraying nitrous cools the intake charge, that's why supercharged people sometimes use a small shot. I do agree with one thing, if you don't have a wideband and if you have no way to log KR/timing, then you probably should get tuned.

he has to worry about timing and various other factors too. why not get it tuned for a 50 or 75 shot?

Yeah, I know you only spray at WOT. This was from my post #8.

No, see the problem i have is. Iam on a 30psi tune, yea i know its high..... i have very little kr while iam driving. and once the meth sprays its gone. and the tune i have isnt very aggresvie because of the tune. its not to where my car will blow up if its not sprayed.

But i really dont want to have to use it every time i race. or go fast. I hit WOT EVERY DAY (dont want that carbon build up LOL) i just want to beable to turn the system on and hit it when iam ready. Yea iam know iam not in the F&F, but sometimes my little 4 banger needs alittle help with the big boys.

I do pretty good racing around my area, i havent lost to too many people, but there are some blown V8 around here that i know will pull away from me alittle, i just want a little kick to keep up/pass them.

if you have an RPD make sure you have it on the KR screen and lift if you see ANY knock retard... timing and overly rich conditions are what kill engines on nitrous... dont be a cheap bastard and try and spray a turbo car on a stock tune unless you just enjoy replacing engines...

You can run a colder plug. That'll knock you down a degree of timing or so which is plenty for a 35 shot on a 4-cylinder.

You are running 30 psi and have to spray meth to prevent KR? That is most definitely an aggressive tune. I do not recommend nitrous for you.
