2008 HHR SS with 40k miles for $16k OR 2013 Sonic RS for $20.3k?
I'm looking for utility...4 doors...better mileage than I get now if I can get it (in my 2.2 I'm only getting 21-22 MPG right now and average is 24 for summer)...the warranty doesn't matter...I'll be modifying whatever I get. I know with relatively little I can get the Sonic up to about 250hp at the crank...obviously only a tune will put the HHR SS much higher....hmmm.
What kind of mileage are TC's seeing?

Is that highway or combined? If I could average a few MPG more than my Cobalt, I'd gladly take it.
I've noticed that the more power I have, the easier I take it on the car...my ex wife's Aura XR...3.6L 252hp...it was quick compared to my car and aside from a few times of trying to see how fast it was, I took it a bit easier than my car. I've noticed that for many cars I've driven. I don't think it would be too much of an issue to take it easier for the most part. I've become very civilized when driving to and from work now...lol.

If hes getting 24 in the summer with a N/A 2.2 then hes going to be worse in the HHR.

I've got a few issues with it...something I need to have Vince look at due to my 2.4 IM...I don't drive with a light foot though either...but like I said, my commute (Blaine to Golden Valley, mostly freeway) I only accelerate fairly quickly, I keep to the speed limit and don't drive like I used to (always passing/speeding/etc). Before the IM I could get 33 all highway, combined about 28 roughly.
Also, never said I would pay the 16, that's asking price.

See I think my issue with the Cobalt is that it's the LS...I haven't sat in an SS or even an LT with leather...I'm sure the seats are more comfortable right? I know the Sonic RS is very comfortable...that's the biggest reason I want the RS over an LT or LTZ turbo...styling and comfort is worth it to me for a car I plan on owning for at least 4-5 years as a DD.
I remember test driving an HHR 2.4 a year after buying my Cobalt and I really liked the seating position and a few other things, but the blind spots were the only issue (definitely something I could live with).
I guess I'll go take the HHR SS for a test drive and see what I think. Can't purchase now...have to wait until at least April for a few reasons...but if I can get a nice HHR SS (lower mileage, good condition) for at least $4-5k less than the Sonic RS, I'll be happy. Vehicle will be paid for in 3 years either way, but having to pay less a month is nice.
Maybe I'll look further away (out of state) and try to find an 09/10 with even better mileage for close to the same price. And I know the CSS/TC's are getting pretty cheap, but I really haven't seen any HHR SS' much under $15k regardless of mileage/year/condition. It's too bad there are so many auto's around.

My truck gets about 8...but then again...company pays for fuel via SuperAmerica Fleet card...so not only do I not pay for my own fuel, I get to keep the points that I earn every week....about $300 a week in fuel.
And this is just an International Business Class dock truck (26' Class B).
