Just checking in, it has been a while.
Ended up selling the Cobalt in April. Got to the point where it needed tires, brakes, and AC compressor. Also I needed something to drive year round since my winter beater felt it was time to die lol.

Went back to the dealer I bought it from, ended up giving me peanuts even though it only had 48,000 on it and turned around after listing it for almost 3 times the amount they gave me ha!
I've seen it around Appleton yet, looks like a younger guy/kid bought it.

Best tune shop for my 2006 SS cobalt with bolt ons in south eastern Wisconsin?
2 places that I know of are
Late model throttle and west bend dyno. Does anyone know anything about either of these places or others?

I've also googled and searched and asked on here, how much of a difference is it to have a mail order tune that comes with your stage kit from ottp or zzp versus having someone Dyno HP pro tune it?

What is a good place to get a dyno tune for a 2006 SS/SC cobalt with bolt ons stage kit and canned tune?
Westbend dyno?late model throttle?one-sixx tuning? I want a tune from a company that knows what they are doing with an LSJ and not just V8 camaros or challengers. I don't want some random person idk to do it and I don't know how and don't trust myself doing it. Where did any of you get a dyno tune in south eastern Wisconsin?

Personally I wouldn't get tuned by any of those places especially one six. If you want to get a good tuner you will need to travel outside of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Or should I buy HP tuners and I plug something in and it gathers information and I give it that info to someone and they work magic and they send me a tune that way which would be as accurate as a dyno tune but from someone who knows wtf they are doing? Cuz I sure TF don't lol

You could do a remote tune with HPTuners. All you need is to find someone that has it in the area and they can do data logs in your car, send the data to the tuner and then he makes and adjusts a tune for your car. The person with the HPT then can flash your car with that tune. You repeat the process until it is complete. Alan McClure is a good tuner that would do something like this. His screen name on here is armcclure. If you choose to pick one of the shops in this area stay away from Jesse Riggle. He has worked at both LMT and West Bend Dyno.

Ok a little confused. I know LMT has HP tuners. So you are saying for example.
Say I buy HPTuners can I data log myself just by driving around normally?

Or have someone who is a tuner drive it a specific way and have them send the info to HPTuners. HPTuners makes a Tune based off that info and LMT or WestBD uploads it?

Or where is a place in Wisconsin you would recommend for a dyno tune? I'm not opposed to driving.

No. More like this. I have HP Tuners and meet up with you to data log and download the tune on your car with my computer/cord. I then send the data to a tuner via email. He then makes changes to your tune based off the data logging and emails it to me. Then I would flash the new tune on your car and data log again. You repeat this until everything is good. In order to download your tune from your car it needs to be unlocked with credits. Our cars take 2 credits to unlock which cost $100 ($50/credit). The other costs would be however much the tuner and the data log guy want. You could even rent a dyno and do the same thing instead of doing it on the street. That is how remote tuning works.

FYI the guy that tuned my car spent a week on the tune. I believe that it took that long because the car was going from premium to E85 and the old tune was from another tuner with a different tuning style.

I just want optimal performance and safe. I'll be adding more things to my car so will most likely need to be tuned other times. Would this guy come to my house? How long does data logging itself take?

Most of the time you have to go to the tuner. As far a data logging it can take as long as you want or need. You need to log idle, normal driving, WOT in multiple gears. Its hard for a tuner to just tune your car in under an hours time. There are a lot of variables.

Ok and you know guys in my area who know how to do this?
I don't expect an hour I'm just wondering if it's like an afternoon of driving then wait a day upload, another afternoon of driving and upload again until
They deem it "perfect"? Can I drive the car the whole time during the process back and forth to work? How much does it cost?

I'm also waiting to get a interceptor aeroforce gauge. But would you suggest I get dual pass, option B and wide band before the tune?
